The Downtown B&B is a pleasant, economical place to stay in Fairbanks. Carolyn, the host, is courteous, friendly, and professional, and made our stay very enjoyable.
The B&B is a few blocks from downtown, just a block south of Airport Way, a major street in Fairbanks. Guest rooms are upstairs, and guests also have access to a full kitchen (sink, stove, full-size refrigerator/freezer) and sitting room. Guests enter through a separate door on the side of the house. Our room had two twin beds, a closet, and a private bathroom. It was small and had a low sloped ceiling, but was still comfortable. Wireless internet is available (unsecured network).
The schedule of our vacation forced us to leave before breakfast was served, so we only ate breakfast once. Carolyn offered homemade muffins, fresh fruit, and coffee, juice, and milk along with about a dozen cold cereal choices.
We stayed here on three non-consecutive nights, which were interrupted by a night in another town. On the night we were away, Carolyn allowed us to keep the rest of our luggage in our room, which she locked, at no extra charge.
We'll definitely plan to stay at the Downtown B&B if we're ever in Fairbanks again.
