“Wonderful find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2006

We stayed here for two nights in July at the beginning of our Alaska vacation and were delighted by the accommodations! There was plenty of space for our family of four to relax, and the location was scenic and peaceful. Floss and Mike went out of their way to make us feel at home, giving us lots of great tips for our visit to Fairbanks. And Floss's breakfasts were fabulous! This was the perfect place to start a memorable vacation!

“Hospitality at its best...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2006

We (three of us) spent two nights at Cranberry Ridge. The hospitality we were shown exceeded any expectation we had. The accommodations consisted of a very comfortable living area and two substantial bedrooms. All of which were spotless. The unit has a large couch in the living area and can easily accommodate six travelers, both sleeping and seating. Many times units sleep six but cannot comfortably handle six people... this one can. The unit has a decent fridge, microwave, small sink, and is stocked.

Upon arriving Floss (owner and host) told us the plan for breakfast which did not match our schedule. She completely overhauled breakfast to accommodate our schedule which was nothing minor. And she did the same for the next day which meant changing her evening schedule. This was very much appreciated by us.

Floss is a host who truly takes her guests to heart. The unit is comfortable, quiet, large, spotless, and within minutes of all Fairbanks attractions. The combination of accommodation and hospitality provided at Cranberry Ridge would be hard to beat.

“Lovely location”

This review has been given a neutral rating since we didn't stay here. However, as there aren't any reviews on Cranberry Ridge Lodge I thought it was worth a mention.

We met Mike & Floss (the owners) through their flightseeing tour company 'Alaska Flying Tours'. After the tour had ended Mike invited us back to his house to meet Floss, his wife. Well, I have to say they are both welcoming and accommodating. They showed us around their beautiful home and took us to their B&B apartment.

Cranberry Ridge is located north of the town (Fairbanks), about fifteen minutes from the airport. You would need your own car to get around since it is set on the outskirts of the city centre but most people hire a car in Alaska anyway. The view is incredible and they have moose which come right up to the house and B&B apartment. There is a separate entrance so you don't have to walk through the main house and you can park right outside your door. If you wanted to see the Northern Lights, this would be a perfect place to stay since there would be minimal light pollution as they aren't based in the city.

There were two comfortable double bedrooms which can sleep four adults, with room for two children on a rollaway. The living room area contains a sofa, television, table and chairs with a fully equipped kitchenette. Mike & Floss provide a continental breakfast for their guests to enjoy at their leisure. If you were interested you can find information and view photos on their website (---)
