“An above average B&B in downtown Fairbanks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

We stayed for one night between a road trip heading north to Fairbanks and catching the railroad south to Anchorage. Mary the host was welcoming, and we had fixed up the booking, payment and early departure by email in advance (we had packed breakfasts left in the fridge for us to take on the train). The house is very close to downtown and has ample onsite parking.

Our room was on the lower ground floor, which I at first thought would be dingy, but it was fine, and all we did was sleep down there anyway! There were four of us, two adults and two children, and we had the Blue Suite, with a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a private bathroom. It was spacious and all very clean, beyond clean in fact, and comfortable, maybe even a bit corporate feeling. Not a home-from-home B&B.

Obviously we cannot comment on the sit-down breakfast (although the packed one was fine - yogurt, an apple, a muffin and a bottle of water each - I did feel they could have stretched to fruit juice), but the dining and lounge areas looked more than adequate, and we sat in the lounge for a while in the evening to use the wifi (it didn't work in our room).

A good B&B, but sadly a bit soulless and not one I yearn to go back to; I'd probably try somewhere different if I ever went back to Fairbanks.

“Great Place and Great Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2011

We pulled in late to Fairbanks and was able to find All Seasons Bed and Breakfast. The Inn Keeper Mary was very helpful in helping us learn more about the Alaska. The rooms were immaculately clean. The breakfast Mary made for us was memorable and one of the best breakfasts we had in Alaska. Eggs, fruit, terrific home fries were plentiful.

“Great B/B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

Arrived by taxi from airport. Greeting straight forward and friendly. Although it is apparent the owner has been doing this for sometime and questions getting a bit tiresome. She did mention the establisment is on the market. Time for a rest and I do not blame her as she has done a great job supplying visitors with genuine care and comfort. The room I was given just a delight, although not really a mans decore, very comfortable and clean including bathroom. Free internet and tea and coffee. Breakfast sufficient and chance to meet other travellers. A little expensive for a solo traveller but hotels cost as well and you dont get the oppurtunity to meet people. I was leaving by train to Denali at the end of my stay at 8:15am. A little packed breakfast was left in the fridge for me. Very thoughtful. Only gripe was the little envelope in the room for tips with words "To let us know we are doing our job right." Fairbanks has little to offer. Trip to the town 'North Pole, to buy junk and sit on Santa's knee. Bars are not very safe. Fights are common place. Safest is Big I. Restaurants are basic and smoking allowed in these as well as bars so be warned. Without car, long walk to major shopping centre which is not in town but on the outskirts. If you are lucky to travel on the trains go the extra and gold class it. Glass dome carriages and bar facilities. A really great railway company.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about All Seasons and our community. I remember the long conversation we had about your extensive travels, how you manage to get away so often and the state of world in general. I would just like to clarify one point; the inn is not on the market. I think we were talking about retirement and my desire to someday have the same opportunity to travel extensively.

Fairbanks is a great little community. We are the hub of Alaska's interior and the gateway for all points north. There are easily three or four days of guest activities available and more if you are traveling into the more remote areas. I wish you had had more than one day to visit with us. You are correct that the railroad is a great way to travel into or out of Fairbanks. Most of my guests are not much interested in the bar scene so I can't offer any comment there except to say why sit in a smoky bar in the land of the midnight sun and the midday moon. Please come again and stay longer. Mary
