We stayed here for two nights. Dawn is a great hostess and the house is immaculate. The bed was huge and comfortable. The great breakfast which set you up for the day. So friendly and easy to chat to we could have talked for hours. The house has so many interesting things in to look at that both Dawn and Paul have both crafted themselves. Dawn goes out of her way to make sure you are fully catered for and makes sure you have every thing you need. Sydney is a real character who loves to show off.
Alaska is a wonderful place and we can't wait to go back and of course stay and catch up with Dawn.

Stayed here for four nights while attending a conference at the University. Excellent location--close to campus, amenities, and airport. Dawn was a fantastic host and served fabulous breakfasts. Very easy to get along with--we had several long conversations during our stay. Shared bathroom between the two bedrooms but we never heard the other couple showering in the morning. Room darkening shades were welcome during the long days we were staying here. Can't recommend this place enough.

Our 3 day Fairbanks stay was revised to include the pleasant setting and visiting with Dawn.
Spacious very tidy home that just happens to be made of some larger logs.
The recent history of the North Slope/Villages that Dawn and Paul have lived is very interesting as are the local unusual artistic pieces.
Location is out of the way so a rental car is probably a must. But then under 10 minutes to the airport.
Of the 6 B&B's we stayed at on this vacation Anschen was the best.

I chose this B&B for my family's trip after doing research on the internet and seeing the glowing reviews and now I just have to add my own. The house itself is wonderful and unique, located right on the banks of the Chena River. The architecture is amazing, it truly is a 'log' cabin made of massive logs but with all the modern comforts (I wish I had their kitchen!). Nestled on two acres, my father and I had a wonderful relaxing time just sitting on the outside bench located right on the banks of the Chena River and watching the water. In addition to the unique, peaceful property, our hostess Dawn really made the stay for us. Dawn was friendly and knowledgeable and so helpful and we loved getting to know her. She was also very helpful in advance, offering to send information and giving helpful tips from the time I first made the booking via e-mail.

Dawn's breakfast was another highlight. She asked us the night before for certain preferences on the food and the next morning we had oatmeal, two kinds of fruit salads, pumpkin muffins, a ham and egg and cheese on muffin sandwich, coffee, juice and more.

Alaska is a special place that I will be returning to and when I do I will definitely be returning to the Anschen Log House.
