“Wonderful Place”

We stayed here during March and it was beautiful. The place was spotless throughout and Dale and Jo were incredibly friendly.

Upon arrival we were met by Dale who helped with our luggage. Jo then took time to explain all of the amenities that they provided and to show us around. We stayed in the flower room and it was very nice, there was ample space to store luggage and fantastic views of the Alaskan Range. The bed was a sleep number bed which was very comfortable and the operation was explained to us by Jo.

The breakfast that was made was lovely. Jo took the time to make a very tasty tagliatelle served with strawberries and muffins. It was delicious.

The area that the B&B is situated in is beautiful with stunning views all around.

“Alaska's hidden treasure”

What can i write that hasn't been written before!? This place is GREAT, not only because of it's nice rooms, but even more so because of the love, dedication and care that Jo gives to make sure each guest has the time of his/her life. The pampering begins after you make your reservation, and Jo e-mails you a wishlist for breakfast and other stuff you might think of having on your dream vacation. And when the time has come to pay and be gone, the pampering continues; i had a cold and felt really sick when driving of to Denali... but Jo wouldn't let me go without making one of here vitalizing herbal teas for on the road. Thanks again Jo, you'll be in our hearts forever. Leo & Patrick

“What a treasure in Fairbanks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights with Dale and Jo in September. This B&B is beautiful! The house sits on top of a hill and overlooks the Chena River in the distance…an absolutely gorgeous setting. We were visiting Fairbanks especially for the Aurora Borealis. Unfortunately, it didn’t appear during our visit but it would have been easily viewed from this location. Even though it is a business, Jo and Dale were very professional but, at the same time, provided a warm, cozy and friendly atmosphere. They felt our disappointment in not seeing the Aurora Borealis and kept providing encouraging words about the possible opportunities of seeing it the next night.

Our flight into Fairbanks was delayed 6 hours and, when we arrived at the B&B at 1 a.m., there was ice cream in the freezer as a “Hello”. That was just the beginning of a wonderful ‘visit’ with these owners. They went out of their way to be helpful.

We stayed in the Jacquard Room which was well appointed and very comfortable. The bed was amazing! The breakfasts that Jo prepared for us were outstanding…quiche, frittata, apple tart, etc. She made more food for us than we could eat and it was all delicious!

Jo was extremely helpful in helping us plan our day with fun activities even though we were on the cusp of winter and a lot of the attractions were closed. We knew this…we came for the Northern Lights. She provided a thermal bag so we could pack our lunch and towels for our trip to the Chena Hot Springs. Having stayed in mostly B&B’s for the past few years and being a former travel agent, we appreciated the quality and care that Jo and Dale put into every little detail. It was so quiet and peaceful here.

The only ‘bad’ thing about this B&B is that we probably will not visit Alaska again and we won’t see Jo and Dale. It seemed like we were leaving old friends the day we left for home! We will definitely recommend this B&B to any of our friends and family who are thinking of an Alaskan vacation…our time here couldn’t have been better!

Thank you, Dale and Jo…we enjoyed ourselves tremendously…keep in touch!

“Excellent place to stay with great hosts, terrific rooms and perfect location to see the aurora borealis.”

Excellent on all accounts!!! Dale and Jo were wonderful hosts. They were very hospitable and a pleasure to visit with. They checked the skies for the aurora throughout the night and rang the room if it was visible. Jo is a terrific chef and made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. They offered great insight and recommendations for fun in Fairbanks. I would go back in a heart beat!

“Lovely place and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2010

We recently stayed at Jo and Dale's for 3 nights and it was just lovely. The room we stayed in was huge and although the bathroom was across the hall it didn't worry us. The bed was very comfortable and the view from our room amazing. The location is a little way out of town but that made it nicer and not too far to get anywhere anyway. We were going to Chena Hot Springs and Jo kindly supplied us with a pack of towels and robes to take and also offered us a hot or cold carrier if we wanted to take food. The breakfast was left in the fridge and you heated it up next morning which was fine. breakfast wasn't huge but was enough for me, however my husband is a big eater and had to ask for extra bread for toast which Jo was happy to give him. Jo and Dale woke us up to see the Aurora in the middle of the night which is a great service and Jo made some great suggestions on where to go. The Farmer's Market was terrific and we wouldn't have thought to go there if she hadn't told us about it. Signing a form to say we wouldn't smoke and that we'd stick to other rules was a bit odd but it didn't worry us as we aren't smokers and we definitely weren't about to do the wrong thing. Access to a computer to check our emails was a wonderful touch. All in all a lovely place and would recommend to anyone going to Fairbanks.
