I stayed at On the Park back in Oct 2011 and have been meaning to write this review ever since. My apologies for not writing sooner. I found about On the Park quite by accident when getting a last minute request at end the week to attend a 2 -day business meeting in Boston beginning on Monday that left me scrambling to find a hotel room at a time when two 10k plus attendee conferences had every hotel within a few miles booked solid that following week. On the verge of staying at a not so nice motel well outside Boston, which would've required traveling by car (which I find a liability in Boston) to/from Logan - I began e-mailing and calling B&B's late Friday with little luck. I got a response from Betsy at On the Park saying they had availability due to a cancellation, provided a brief description of the inn and offered a very, reasonable rate. After calling Betsy to review the details, she e-mailed me a confirmation based on an honor system that I would pay in full upon arrival, she also provided me with directions (between two "T" stops off the Green line). Upon arrival on Monday afternoon, found the key as instructed and after unpacking decided to bypass the free kuerig coffee maker available in the dining room to go to the Starbucks I passed on my way from the T stop and to explore Brookline. Upon returning I met Marcus who was welcoming and very helpful in suggesting some of the local eateries for dinner. I finally met Betsy after returning from an awesome Thai dinner and we settled my payment while Marcos provided a glass of wine and we watched the 3rd installment of Ken Burns' Prohibition. Great company, good conversation and wine! Breakfast the next day was wonderful and gave me the opportunity to make a connection with a business exec from China who with his wife was visiting their daughter who is attending BU. All in all the location is wonderful... Brookline reminded me of a suburb (Ardmore/Narberth) near Philly where I was raised. This will be my first choice next I have to travel to Boston.
