A 5 minute walk to the "T" (subway) station and grocery store (uphill to the house!), about 15-20 minutes to downtown (service is every 10 minutes or so). We had the private queen with bath and it was huge, quiet, clean and comfortable. Meg was very helpful with what to see and where to eat. It's located on a quiet street in a beautiful neighbourhood, with lots of local shopping, including a Trader Joe's.
I spent five nights in June at Meg's house. My room had a nice private bathroom, a comfortable bed; there were some art pieces on the walls worth another look, I also liked the tree branches peeping into the room through the window. A quiet, safe neighborhood with some old trees and old houses, just minutes away to Beacon street that has lots of decent places to eat. My schedule did not allow me to enjoy any of the breakfasts that were offered. I had a chance, though, to chat a little with Meg, a very refined and lively person.
For sure a place to visit again!

Visited our daughter and stayed at our first ever bed & breakfast. So glad we chose Meg and her lovely home. The queen bed with bath was very comfortable and quiet. Morning conversation with Meg was delightful, just like we had known each other for years. Coffee and light breakfast was delicious. She was very helpful in planning the sightseeing events of the day. We felt very welcome and will return.
We were visiting children in Brookline for a long weekend and needed a place to stay. Hilltop B&B was well situated - not even a five minute walk down the hill to Beacon Street and the T (Green Lines C and D). We stayed in the queen room with the private bath. The room is large and the bed comfortable. The shower was wonderful - a large walk-in shower. Meg is a fascinating host, well travelled and well read. We enjoyed chatting with her at breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.
