On 2/5 I traveled to Baltimore for for my first meeting with a urologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The appointment was at 8:45a.m. on 2/6, and I was coming from some distance in VA and wanted to be refreshed for an appointment about which i was apprehensive. The room seemed all right until the following became evident during the stay: no heat, no hot water on 2/6, no coffee maker, the headboard fell on the floor, no packet of hotel information at all in the room so it was a guess for TV channels; there was no Do Not Disturb sign. The escalator on 2/6 was not functioning. I called re the heat on 2/5, but it was late and I decided I could live w/o it. The temp hovered around 65-66F. I was up at six and they did fix the hot water by about 6:45a.m. Needless to say it was not the restful evening I had hope for. When I went down for coffee 2/6 about 7a.m. I was charged $3. I asked why they didn't offer guests free coffee and the lady said, "The coffee in the room is free." When I told her my coffee maker didn't work, it became clear I didn't have the time before my appmt to deal with her steps to get my $3 back. There was no manager on duty in the morning so I explained all to the front desk clerk. She comped my $25 self-parking fee. I fled to make my appointment. Avoid this disaster of a hotel at all costs! On 2/5 the service in the informal eating area was good. It was "Super Bowl" nite.
