Excellent location, good value. Room size is fine, but very small bathrooms. Ian was very helpful at the front desk.

We beleive this hotel has a number of lesser quality rooms reserved for "special deals" like living social. The room was of poor quality. Pipes were bare in the bathroom, the drapes were visibly stained, and the thermostat seemed not to work in the heating register, causing the room to be either hot or cold, but not regulated for in-between. The ceiling near the door and the door itself were 6' high. This was true for the room adjoining ours, also a "Living Social" deal. I can't imagine what a very tall person would do! We can't imagine that this hotel would ever rent this room at full price. The breakfast was marginal at best. They would be much better served by dropping the "hot" part and just giving a true continental breakfast. Cold Hash Browns, sandwich ham slices, premade pancakes and one barely functioning waffle iron does not a HOT breakfast make. There were a few nice ammenities including a nice Happy Hour layout and a plesant staff. These of course, were offered in general for the regular guest. There are no other facilities at this hotel (i.e. pool, game room), so these are what they have to offer. Very poor for children. This offer is a discounted product at a discounted Social Living price. It could never be confused with a regular priced product at a discounted price.

We bought a Living Social deal for the Brookshire Suites that gave us a good room rate, free valet parking, breakfast, and a credit to a nearby restaurant. The only downside was the hold time when you call the hotel. Once I got there, I saw that they seem to be busy, so the people who work there are doing the best that they can with who they have. I first tried to get a room for this past Saturday, but they were sold out, and I was put on a waiting list. I kept calling, and everyone was really, really nice and professional, but again, I was left waiting on the phone for a very long time. The good thing, though, was that there were cancellations last minute and we got a room on the day we wanted. The place where you pull your car to valet is a little cramped, but our car was taken care of. But everyone was so, so nice, from the front desk staff, to the valets, to the cleaning people. EVERYONE. Our room was nice and spacious, and really, really clean. The front desk called us a cab to our destination for dinner and they were prompt. The room was really comfortable and the bed was great! Breakfast was more than what I was expecting, and the mood of everyone there was relaxed, so people seemed to have all been in a good mood. The food was delicious, and once again, the front desk staff and valets were really efficient and pleasant. They also even have activities for kids with a treasure box that you ask for gold coins from to redeem for a prize. Really thoughtful place, a block from Harborplace, and near everything. I would definitely recommend. Even the regular prices are much better than a lot of the other hotels downtown, and it's worth it. Really enjoyed!

My boyfriend and I arrived on a Friday evening for an alumni event at my alma mater. When we attempted to check in, they did not have our reservation (I had booked through hotels.com and apparently there had been a snag on their end with the confirmation of my reservation). The staff were laid back and extremely helpful. We ended up just taking a room they still had open. The staff member we dealt with gave us a rate that was substantially less than the rate we had booked at, and we ended up with a lovely King Suite for perhaps less than it would have cost to secure a standard room on a typical weekend! There were some signs of wear in the room, the wallpaper had minor tears here and there, but nothing that made the room feel unclean. The breakfast in the cloud club was a very nice spread, we made sure to (over)indulge both mornings. The bed and pillows were sooo comfortable! The staff were all extremely sweet, never too busy to answer a question or help out. I even left my cell phone charger there and returned four hours after checking out. One of the ladies from housekeeping ran it down within minutes. Overall, i'd love to stay here again!
