“Friendly Service Good rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This was the least expensive hotel in the center of downtown Baltimore. Walking distance to museums. 5 minute drive to the Harbor and to Johns Hopkins Hospital. The rooms were all quiet, and clean...like any standard typical holiday inn but nicer I think. The the The people at the front desk were always friendly. I would definately return next time Im visiting Johns Hopkins...or even for a weekend at the harbor. There is a $15 per night charge for parking but I think all of the hotels charge that or more. The heating system worked well and the filters were new. I always check.

Room Tip: I have used this hotel 3 times and each time stayed in a room not on the main streets and it was alw...

“so so”

Good american-size room. The room was warm. The heating controls worked. Reasonable choice of TV channels.
Breakfast was fair. Very limited choice of food (hot and cold). when things ran out, they were gone. This included knives - when the knives ran out people used spoons and forks to spread butter.
I didn't like the hidden charges. Charging extra for the use of the room safe was a sharp practice I thought.

Room Tip: In this area it is not advisable to walk alone at night. No problem during the day.

We are glad to see that you found our hotel comfortable! I apologize on behalf of our breakfast cafe, we are going through some transitions and working out the kinks.
I hope that you will give us a second chance next time you are in the city.

Thank you again,

“Would not be my pick but great employee's”

I stayed in mid January for 2 nights. Andy at the front desk was fantastic! He was helpful and gave great advise. I took the light rail in from the airport and was a bit concerned at the area of the stop for the hotel, most of the buildings were abandoned and had to walk 3 blocks to the hotel. The city itself is very run down unless you are on certain streets or at the Inner Harbour. The hotel itself is older and could use some refurbishments carpet, furniture and such. Breakfast was okay. All in all I wold not stay here again I would recommend staying in the Inner Harbour area.

“Good deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Not luxury but more than adequate. Central location, attentive staff & full breakfast included. Near museums, dining & the Circulator bus route. Better than budget.

Room Tip: Upper floors are quieter.

“Pleasant Surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

We booked this hotel with the Living Social deal to see the fireworks at the lighting of the Monument and visit the inner harbor. It was a pleasant surprise to see how nice the Mt. Vernon neighborhood was and how close we were to everything. We found the staff of the hotel and also the Baltimore residents we encountered to be very friendly and helpful. In any large city you will find vagrants or those trying to scam you for money. It comes with the territory. We encountered a few, but not near the hotel. The hotel room was more than adequate for the king size bed and the bathroom was spacious. We brought our own pillows after reading another review here. Yes, they do need to be upgraded. We heard no street noise and had no temperature issues as others have mentioned. The garage was a tight fit for our SUV but we managed. It was a great benefit to have the parking available. The breakfast which was included in the price was pretty good... a few mistakes (potatoes were undercooked one day, omelette was botched) but overall not bad at all. All in all the hotel seemed very clean but just two little annoyances I have to mention. A blue M&M remained on the floor of our room the entire 2-day stay. I left it there just to see if housekeeping would pick it up but I guess they didn't see it. The dark color kind of blended in with the carpet. Also, a Q-tip remained on the floor of the hallway near the elevator at the 3rd floor for the entire 2 days we were there. Housekeeping staff had to have noticed it. I was surprised no one bothered to pick it up. This was our first visit to Baltimore and we did enjoy it. We found a cute Irish bar around the corner from the hotel on Charles St. - O'Shea's I think, which was fun. We also visited the inner harbor, the aquarium for $8 after 5pm and Fells Point which was quaint with the cobblestone streets. It was nice to be there without crowds. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for a pleasant place to sleep at the end of the day, not a fancy resort or bellmen to carry your luggage.

Room Tip: 3rd floor king size room was great
