“Friendly, Spotless and Well Managed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 March 2010

I selected this hotel for its location off of I-95, easy access to I-695 and travel times to locations in and around Baltimore. I also needed a one-bedroom with a door, a handicapped accessible bathroom for a family member and a kitchen. Throw in a very good breakfast buffet, manager's reception and excellent TripAdvisor ratings, and I booked. The value was good but not exceptional.

I was not disappointed. The front desk was exceptionally friendly. The hotel was spotless -- far better than some of the luxury hotels that I have stayed in. Breakfast was more than adequate. The room was very good, though noise from the frig and HVAC sometimes woke me up. Two flat screens, good amenities, good water pressure and a nice kitchen. One item that could be improved -- there was no luggage rack in the room.

Parking is free and plentiful. In contrast, when I stayed at a hotel in Baltimore, they charged $20+ nightly plus a fee every time you entered/exited the parking garage.

This is a hotel that we will definitely use again when traveling to the area. Family members who visited us at the hotel were similarly impressed.

“Great hotel for an extended stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

Came with my husband for his work. Brought our small dog with. The hotel is located very close to 4 different shopping areas and many restaurants. It looks simple on the outside-though well landscaped. They were even working on the landscaping in January. Inside the lobby is impressive with a fire constantly going. Very welcoming. The staff are very friendly. We had a one bedroom suite which was decorated very well- bright blue and yellow.Everything is new and very clean. Full kitchen and eating area, sleeper couch, chair, desk, TV in living room and bedroom, separate sink area from stool and tub room, bedroom closet and coat closet. The hotel provides a hot, full breakfast each morning. M-W they have a dinner as well. There is a pool table, outdoor gas fire to sit around, workout room, free laundry. I wish we were here in the summer to enjoy the outdoor pool, spa, sport court and grills. They also have a free Trolley that takes you to the shopping malls. It only runs from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM though.
The only way it could be better is if the pool and spa were indoors! I wish there was more areas to walk the dog close by. There was enough sidewalks for about a 15 minute walk-then it was busy roads.

“Flawless Business Meeting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2009

We recently held a 2 day conference in the Residence Inn's meeting room and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. The impeccable service began from the very first email to obtain information on the hotel until the very end when we signed off on the bill.

I was told the conference room typically held approximately 35-40 people, but our meeting had 55 attendees. The staff arranged the room so that everyone had a seat at a table (classroom style) with a comfortable amount of space around them.

We were able to bring in outside catering for a minimal fee and were able to use the breakfast area as a serving/seating area for the lunch break. The staff was incredible in providing help to set-up the outside catering as well as accessories and utensils to make the set-up more appealing.

Above all, the Residence Inn White Marsh was the most afforable hotel in the area to host our meeting. With its outstanding customer service and clean, like-new facilities,we will definitely be utilizing this center for future conferences.

Thanks to Erica and her team for a helping us host a flawless event!

“As Close To Home As A Hotel Can Be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2008

I stayed at this hotel for nearly 3 months earlier this year due to my job. I cannot say enough great things about it - in fact, after a while I started accidentally referring to the place as "home"!

The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Marula was a real sweetheart, and all front desk personnel were very helpful in addressing whatever questions I posed. Housekeeping was great - they even loaded/unloaded my dishwasher a few times which was unexpected (but nice!).

Initially I booked a 1-Bedroom suite, but having seen the Studio, I decided to switch because the Studio had a much more open feel and the 1-Bedroom actually felt smaller since the only real difference between the two rooms, in my opinion, was the addition of a wall to separate the sleeping area from the living room. The Studio also had a breakfast bar area whereas the 1-Bedroom setup had a small dining table instead. Both rooms included a fold-out couch which could accommodate 2 additional guests.

In both rooms the amenities included: a dishwasher, full size fridge, sink with disposal, kitchen stocked with plates, bowls, cups, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, dish detergent, and coffee maker. The bathroom area provided a hair dryer as well as shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soaps. Additional toiletries were availble from the front desk.

Some of my favorite perks were: free laundry (your room comes with a laundry basket and there were 4 washers and 8 dryers available down by the gym; detergent and fabric softener sheets were free at the front desk); free breakfast (fruits, cereals, eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurts, coffee, tea, juices, etc.); complimentary grocery shopping (you give them a list of what you need and they'll buy it for you - you pay for the groceries but the service is free); happy hour on Mondays - Thursdays (free beer and wine, and usually some sort of food such as hot wings, pasta dishes, or burgers); and a trolley service on demand that will bring you to local places such as the mall, the bus park & ride, and The Avenue (an outdoor mall with several restaurants and bars). Yes, the trolley service was free too but don't forget to tip!

The location is also great. You have plenty of dining options within a short walk or drive from the hotel (your typical chain restaurants), plus a grocery store, a regular mall, an outdoor mall, and IKEA (OK most people don't usually buy furniture while they're on vacation but they hey also serve food there!).

If you're in town during baseball season, why not check out an Orioles game? You can walk over or take the trolley to the bus park & ride on the other side of Honeygo Blvd. - behind Ikea - and for $20 round trip per adult (children are probably cheaper), you can hop on a bus to Camden Yards. It's about a 30 minute ride and you don't need to deal with the hassle of driving, parking, and paying the tunnel toll. They drop you off right at the gate and pick you up there after the game. Camden Yards is a beautiful, modern park and the games hardly ever sell out so tickets are usually available for as little as $12.

My stay at this hotel was an enjoyable one, and the surrounding area provided everything I needed to enjoy my temporary home. If I ever find myself back in the Baltimore area for business or pleasure, I will most certainly stay here!

  • Liked — Lots of freebies made it feel more like home, less like a hotel. And you can have pets here!
  • Disliked — No on-site bar or restaurant

“Wedding Memories”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2008

I rented a double room suite for the night before my daughters wedding. I wanted a central location for the Bridal party, florist, photographer and limo to arrive at with plenty of parking, while also offering guest traveling a long distance a place to change into there formal clothes. The room was spotless clean, the front desk personnel were fabulous with the amount of traffic coming and going from the hotel and even accomadated the photographer and wedding party when they decided the "library" setting in the hotel would make a great back drop for some photos. The hotel staff made a special day start out flawlessly,,,,what else can a bride and her mom ask for! Thank you White Marsh crew!
