A friend and I stayed at the Hotel Monaco Baltimore just for two short nights. The hotel is in a grand, old building which has been refurbished into a hotel on one side and an office building on the other side. The staff were all very accommodating, professional and friendly. The location was central and very quiet at night. Parking was wonderfully easy - choose the valet or the self serve which is literally around the corner. The only downsides to this hotel were in the rooms. As noted in other reviews, the room was extremely large and spacious which was lovely. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower but no tub and the towel bar/hooks were quite far away with no option to hang your towel/robe anywhere nearby. The bathroom did not have a fan option or a window. The hotel pumped a sweet smelling air freshener throughout which can cause problems if you are sensitive to perfumes and the windows, bright and large, do not open. Upon arrival, we found an uneaten vitamin (someone else's) on the carpet in the middle of the room. In general, the linens and the furniture were a bit worn and scratched and felt like it needed a bit of care. The location and the service may outweigh the downside depending on your priorities.
