I was in this hotel for a convention recently and was not disappointed but also not significantly iimpressed either. The hotel is relatively new, so everything is clean and in working order. However, as other people have mentioned, the lobby is very noisy and doesn't provide a good venue to get together to talk. More annoying, however, is that the walls in the rooms are not soundproof, so you can hear quite a bit of what is going on in the rooms next to you. Worse though, is that the sounds from the hall are clearly audible in the rooms. On the plus side, this hotel is very convenient to the convention center but there isn't much else in the immediate vicinity and the area immediately to the north is kind of seedy. You need to go 5 or 6 blocks to get to the Inner Harbor although the circulator bus (which is free) stops right outside the hotel and will take you to the harbor in about 5 minutes.
Room Tip: Don't bother getting the upgraded room on a higher floor. Given the hotel's location, there...

We will share your comments in regards to the noise levels you experienced with our team. We appreciate also your comments about our convenient location, as our Hotel do enjoys great views of Baltimore, and we are within walking distance of many family attractions as well, such as: the First Mariner Arena, the Inner Harbor, the Ravens home base, and Orioles stadium.
Although the Hilton Baltimore is also conveniently attached to the Baltimore Convention Center, we do enjoy having many families stay with us as well. As you mentioned we are about 5 blocks from the Inner Harbor and the City circulator bus which stops right outside the hotel, will take our guests complimentary to the harbor in about 5 minutes.
