“Never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

Never have my family and I ever felt so unwelcome. The old man running the show constantly smelled of alcohol, was beyond rude, and tried to pick a fight with my dad and brother. The pictures posted online are incredibly deceiving. The beds and pillows were plastic, the shower water was cold, and the high speed WiFi that's advertised is one little bar of service that holds signal for maybe 5 minutes if your lucky. We were supposed to stay two nights but left immediately after our first nights stay.

“Beware of rude owner & tight spots”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2010

This was one of six RV parks my family stayed in during our Spring Break RV vacation. At every other location, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, this place is run by a man that I can't believe stays in business. He is rude, difficult, menacing, disrespectful, and geuninely seemed annoyed that he had customers. From the moment I pulled in, he punched the side of my RV with his hand loudly and dressed me down for pulling in past where his stop sign said for visitors to stop. On several other instances where we were forced to interface with him, he found something to be critical or difficult about, made us extremely uncomfortable, and was as far from hospitable and gracious as he could possibly be. Another family we knew was staying there that night and had the same experience - so it wasn't just us. Even though we had paid for two nights, we tried to find another place to stay the second night (unfortunately they were full - but Prude Ranch nearby looked nice if you can get in).

I saw one or two other posts here from folks who warmed up to this guy - so if you are thick skinned, willing to take some disrespect and abuse, and believe you should have to have to work to earn the respect and civility of a business owner, maybe this is for you. But I'll be warning anyone I can talk to to stay away from this place.

As to the place itself, the location was nice that you could walk to town and restaurants and shops. But the RV spots were small and tight, and the park is surrounded by very run down RV homes.

“Worst visit ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2009

I gave them my credit card information in advance for a room there when I got there they said they did not take credit cards and we when we ask why it was different from when it was different from the phone he went crazy and made me cry and ruined our trip to Fort Davis. This guy is evil do not stay here.

“Not what you think!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2009

Does not look anything like the pictures on web site. The location was nice and convienant to everything but it was just a terrible site. Trailer homes all around with in 20 ft for full time residents. Our site was kinda like a driveway, what they called a pull thru site. It was dirt and not level, we seriously thought about moving but thank goodness we got there late and left very early. Not a place you would want to sit outside and enjoy. I would not recommend this site to anyone!!

“Nice place to stay to get a taste of Ft. Davis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2009

We found this place on line in trip adviser website. We thought that it was what we wanted to even though the reviews were quite mixed. When we got there we were put into a cite in the middle and were allowed to leave before checking in. We wanted to get to the observatory before 2 pm. No problem, upon our return I had a long talk with the owner.

He is a nice guy if you just act like a regular person. Don't talk loud he doesn't like it. Being a teacher for 30 years I tend to speak loudly, he told me that he was right in front of me, and didn't I see he was right there. Latter we spoke about his building the place up from a pile of nothing to a nice clean place. We also discussed his cat that walks on a leash, his rabbits, and his retirement from the Military.

The wifi was strong, and the campground was nice. The one part that needs work are the bathrooms. Although they were very clean they were also very old and in need of renovation. This RV-Cabin campground has no pool or game room but was well situated. We were told about a great Mexican restaurant which we could byob. We picked up a six pack and went to dinner Excellent food

Rob, the hired help was very helpful and extremely nice guy. It was the perfect place to stay when visiting Ft. Davis. We would stay again.
