“Absolutely fantastic!”

First of all, we were so grateful that our dog was so graciously accepted! We stayed in the dog-friendly house next to Clementines, which was delightful! The bed was very comfortable, and we had a perfect kitchen, sitting room, and dining room at our disposal. Judith let us snoop at the upstairs rooms, with their amazing views of the Columbia, and they were as inviting as the rest of the house. Judith is the consummate host, inviting guests in for wine in the evening, and making everyone feel so welcome at breakfast. We felt we were passing time with friends! Great places to walk, excellent restaurants, and we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: dog-friendly house next door is great! The front rooms of the main house have superb views of the Co...

“GREAT B&B!!!”

We stayed in the RIverview Loft-I had a GREAT time running up & down the stairs-plus the inkeeper knew all about Australian Shepherds so I felt right at home and much loved! I am hoping my human companions will bring me back soon for a return visit.
The view from the balcony was great-I could watch the street, the town and the Columbia river.
Best of all, I got to run in the waves at several great beaches-it was one of my best vacations ever!
My Human companions told me the breakfast food was excellent as was the company, but would not allow me to verify that independently, although I can tell you it smelled truly delicious---- Larry the Dog

Room Tip: The riverview loft and the lodge are pet friendly! Four paws up!

“Never again!”

I knew going in that things are a little different at B&Bs, but this was ridiculous! No clock, no phone, no electrical outlets (unless you counted the one in the bathroom down the hall). The kitchen was dirty, and because of the smell, windows and doors were left open all night, making for a damp, 54 degree awakening the next morning (no window screens in many windows). Our sheets were stained, and when confronting the owner, we were accused of staining them ourselves! We slept on top of the covers (because of the stains) and again, it was a very chilly way to wake up. Couldnt get hot water until we figured out that C means hot, H means cold. Upon telling the owner that we wouldnt stay another night, we were told to leave and she became very defensive. We were also told we shouldve contacted her (how? no phone, no phone numer listed) by going outside and ringing the doorbell. We had no idea how to contact her. VERY deceptive photo on the website, be prepared for lots of steep stairs just to get to the front door (not shown on the website). Not sure how an elderly person could handle this. Parking is VERY limited. The upstairs rooms are at least 30 feet up and no way to get out in a fire (frayed fabric lamp cords). Anyway, this place is a trainwreck. I've never been so glad to leave an establishment.

I visited Astoria for the Bicentennial weekend in August 2011. Judith was outstanding in her help before and during my visit and the B&B could not be better located in relation to the towns amazing features. We were one block from both the festival parade and the Goonies prison which is now the film musuem. I highly rate Judith's personality and friendliness

Room Tip: French violet room was excellent. i loved the little balcony and chairs outside

my husband and I were travelling through the USA west coast and decided to stay in Astoria. Not only does this town have a ton of history the bed and breakfast also shares a rich history. Judith was very accomodating paying attention to all of my dietary needs as well as our comfort. She put on a fabulous breakfast and I am anticipating her cook book! thanks for a memorable vacation!
