“Most Refreshing Place in Astoria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Discovering the Astoria Inn Bed and Breakfast several years ago has been most rewarding. The historic house is absolutely beautiful, intersting, and comfortable. Love the setting high on the hill overlooking the Columbia River and Astoria. We've stayed in all the rooms and each has its own character. Mickey Cox is not only a great cook but a wonderful person. We look forward to the stay and connecting with her. And, the guests have been a variety from all over the country and Europe, with great stories and conversations. Then there is Astoria - historic and charming, with a great variety of restaurants. Astoria Inn is now our favority place to stay on the Oregon Coast.

Room Tip: The Red Room is up front and large. But we like the charm of the back room - Virginia.

“Perfect Place to Stay in Astoria”

My husband and I stayed at the Astoria Inn in September of 2011. Mickey was not able to greet us upon our arrival, but she left a sweet note on the door to welcome us to her home. Since we were the only guests, she moved us to the Cape Lookout Room, which has the best view.

My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the front porch. There was a slightly obstructed view of the river. We were able to watch ships go by, and were serenaded by the local sea lions. Mickey was the perfect hostess, and made us a delicious breakfast.

The house was well kept, and the rooms were very clean. It is decorated in the "old style" of B&B's that was popular in the 1980's and 1990's with busy wallpaper, dark green carpeting, artificial flower arrangements and wreaths, and chotski's everywhere. I've never seen so many pigs in one kitchen. If you are looking for a modern "spa" experience, this will not be the place for you. However, if you want a great value, and a sweet hostess, this is a wonderful place.

Room Tip: The Cape Lookout room has the best view of the river

Mickey is a wonderful host and serves up a great breakfast. She can cook for us anytime! The rooms are good size and very clean and comfortable. The house is old and well kept, charming.

Room Tip: All rooms are upstairs but 1.

“Warm and Welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

My husband and I were on a 13,000 mile motorcycle trip when we stayed with Mickey this past August. We were cold and hungry from riding down the chilly Olympic Peninsula and getting rather tired by the time we got to Oregon. All that changed when we arrived at the Astoria Inn B&B. Mickey opened up her lovely home to us in such a warm and welcoming manner that she felt like family. She had freshly baked cookies waiting for us and a handsome room with a super comfortable bed right off the dining room. Her breakfast was superb the following morning- she really is a spectacular hostess! This was truly one of the nicest B&Bs we've ever stayed in.
