We asked for aroom with a view and were not fore warned of the sea lions.The smoke detector was not wired in and the staff were rude.NOT good value.

Nice clean room. Good breakfast. Kids loved the pool. Sea lions don't allow for deep sleep, but they're heard pretty much all over town. Good location and nice stay.

We recently planned our trip down the beautiful Oregon Coast and decided to arrive here as our starting point for our 1st evening stay. Here's what our $199 (negotiated down from $239 - thank goodness for small favors) stay got us: an old, run down room with old carpet that needs replaced, furniture that's older than any garage sale items, an old elevator that's scratched and dented up, dark dingy hallways and beat up walls in our unit. Walked down to use the jacuzzi next to the pool and the water was lime green and you couldn't even see the bottom it was so cloudy - yecchhh! I passed (didn't want hepatitis at this stage in life). They offered no refund or reduced rate when I complained at checkout - said there must be too much chlorine - Hah, how about no chlorine!!

Now for the positive. The night clerk was a friendly lady - doing her best. They have a nice view of the Columbia River behind the hotel and a walking/running trail there (if you're so lucky as to have a room on the back side - we were not). I recommend you stay somewhere else if in this area. The Holiday Inn Express down the road looked nice but was all booked up when we needed a room - can understand why!

We arrived without a reservation and were given a great room with a view of the Columbia River. When we opened the door, the room smelled quite musty but after leaving the windows opened for a few hours, it was ok...Rooms need to be rennovated--rather dated. Loved hearing the sea lions early in the morning...OK hotel but wouldn't have been my first choice.
