I stayed here a week ago and the lobby of the hotel is nice. The room, workout facilities, and the rest of the hotel are in need of a decor update. The plumbing in my room did not work so well, but it functioned. I was a little aggravated that the leaking water on the bathroom floor. . The hotel smelled musty and overall looked worn in the interior. The frount counter clerks had trouble finding my reservaion and they seemed like they were too distracted to check me in. I am sorry to say all of this, but I am just being honest and I think this hotel needs to get their act together.

We were only in Jacksonville for the weekend, but if and when we go back, we'll stay at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront again. We arrived in town at 10:00 a.m. (two couples, two cars) and stopped in to ask if we could leave one of the cars there while we did some touristy things even though check-in wasn't until 4. The young woman at the desk checked our reservation and said our room was ready, we could go ahead and check in if we wanted! Although the other room was not available yet, we were able to move all the bags in and freshen up a bit before we went out on our adventure. The room itself was spacious and clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable. We almost booked rooms at the _____ ___ Express, north of the city; even though the Crowne Plaza charged $10 per day for parking (in their very spacious and convenient underground lot) the total charge ended up less, for what I'm sure were better accomodations. All the staff we encountered were incredibly helpful.

Stayed for 1 night in a Riverview room. It had a private balcony with amazing views of the Jacksonville skyline. I got in late and check in was smooth. Parking in the underground garage was no hassle. I did not eat at the hotel but there is a Ruth Chris steakhouse which is always delicious. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom and shower had no issues. While you will probably see this hotel is becoming a bit 'older', there is nothing to be alarmed about or to discourage you from staying here. Oh, and did i mention the view is FANTASTIC!!!

The hotel was more than satisfactory. Clean, up to date, free Wi-Fi, breakfast buffet, decent room service, convenient location for downtown Skyway (2 block walk), free hotel shuttle. Restaurant is a 5 star Ruth's Chris Steak House which is great for a special occasion, but not within our normal day budget. Be careful when booking to understand that you can pay more for what they call a "River View". i would like to get my money back for this supposed benefit. It is difficult to see the the river, but there is a river view somewhere out there. As in the tropics, "water view" does not mean "water front".
