We requested an upgrade to a suite, but with none available, we stayed in a king room on the 1st floor, which ended up being fine for us as it had plenty of room, extra chairs, flat screen TV, fridge, & microwave. Each evening as we came in from a long day working, the front desk employee greeted us & asked us about our day. The other front staff members were also friendly & most of them worked hard at being accommodating. For example on the morning we were leaving, there wasn't a cart in sight for at least an hour, & one of the hotel employees, not able to find us a cart anywhere ended up finding a dolly to offer us for our use...(not the hotel's fault that some guests hoard carts in their room). The breakfast was the typical Holiday Inn Express spread, but if you arrived after 8am, it seemed that the bread was gone (there were still sugary muffins & sweet rolls). The first morning at 7:05am the vacumn was running outside our room & then also later near the breakfast area while we were eating (I did mention this to the front desk clerk & the next morning the vacumn wasn't running until 7:25). Also the third morning the TV didn't work in the breakfast area & remained nonworking the remainder of our visit. One evening as we were returning to the hotel at around 9:30pm, the road was blocked that we needed to use to get to the hotel. We has to go up to the next exit (about 3 miles), turn around & come in from the other direction...again, not the hotel's fault. Even though we have our complaints, we would stay at this hotel again.
