I had a very unpleasant stay at this hotel. First off, I encountered several cockroaches while dining in the grill. I reported this to the bartender/server, who was sympathetic (and observed the cockroaches), but suggested that I report this to the front desk. The man at the front desk advised that he would credit me for my uneaten meal, but was otherwise unapologetic or concerned. Then, the AC was not working in my room. I phoned the desk and was advised that they would get back to me in 5 minutes. 30+ minutes later (approx 9:30 pm), having not heard from anyone, I called back, where the man who answered the phone was again unapologetic, but said he would send someone up with a key to a new room. I will say that the woman who came to my room with the key to the new room did seem to be concerned and was apologetic. I stayed the next night only because I had a tight schedule with business meetings and no time to arrange other accomodations. Oddly, the hotel has a very unpleasant odor of chemicals or insecticides. I assume that there may be an infestation problem that is being unsuccessfully treated. In general, the property is rundown and suffers from poor maintenance. I certainly do not feel that the accomodations I received were worth the price paid for the room. I expect to receive an acceptable level of accomodation, and am dissapointed that that is not what I received. I contacted Holiday Inn with my complaint, and received a response that promised future improvements, but did not address my complaint, bascically offered lip service. I did not hear from this specific hotel and have no confidence that the Holiday Inn brand has any committment to customer satisfaction nor quality assurance.
