“Enjoyed our stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

My husband and I went on a Tiger Cruise on the USS George HW Bush. Everything was absolutely perfect. You had a wonderful group rate for us and gave us a great breakfast. You had shuttle buses for us in the morning, got us to the naval base in time to see our sons' ship come in. Also, we had to leave our car in your parking lot for three days while we went on the tiger cruise, when we came back on an airplane your shuttle picked us up at the airport and took us back to the hotel to get our car. Your staff was excellent and the hotel and room were great. Thank you so much for making our whole experience wonderful from beginning to end. Would definitely stay at your hotel again!!!

“Great staff, comfy rooms. Could use some refurbishing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

This place is so close to the airport, you can walk to hotel through parking lot from airport. They will shuttle you either way and take you to nearby River City Market Place for a wide variety of restaurants and stores. The staff is their strong suit. They are ultra friendly, helpful and professional. You don't get any airplane noise. But if you have a loud neighbor in the room next to you, you'll hear them. The beds are comfortable. There's an average pool and scenic little pond. The hot tub is basically mothballed. The convention center is roomy and decent. They give you a free hearty breakfast. The hotel in general looks like it could use a face lift and a good shrubbing. The room service spaced out cleaning a couple of times but got right on it when called. There are some interesting smells here and there if you're a delicate person, it would put you off. They have a microwave, frig and coffee service and free use of laudry machine/dryer. I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: I stayed on 6th floor. Go for that.

“poor Customer Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

the hotel van is happy to take you places, many restaurants and shops just a mile and a half away. Problem is, they did not come to get me.I called and waited for 45 min for pickup from restaurant. Since it was shift change, I kept getting excuses from front desk. I finally called a taxi to pick me up and take me back to hotel as I had to be at airport at 430 pm and it was already pushing 3 by the time I got picked up. When I called Choice Customer service, tehy informed me that this property's Choice Hotel privledges had been suspended, but did not say why. They did, however, reimburse me the taxi fare I paid. The restaurant at this hotel was not open. They also had broken ice machines on our floor.

“Worst ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

In my 40-plus years of travel, this hotel might be the worst place I ever stayed. Dirty and smelly. From our room, you could see something black at bottom of pool below so we checked it out and it was that dirty. There was no "closed" sign but I can't imagine anyone getting into that water. In lobby, signage said eateries open until 11 p.m. but they were never open, day or night. Asked clerk to print out our boarding passes and he said the printer was out of toner. Lobby and hallways were warm. The breakfast buffet was not bad. Will never stay at another Clarion.

“AVOID IF POSSIBLE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

I stayed here July 2011 (right now, in fact). On arrival was sent to a room with an A/C unit so loud you could here it in the hall. When I entered, it looked as though I had missed a major party. The room was filthy, bed linen piled in the middle of the bed, and every drawer pulled out. The room temp was 84 degrees in spite of the fact that the thermostat was set on 64. When I got another room (it was late, or I would have left), the A/C worked, but the carpet had numerous white deposits of questionable origin, and was obviously dirty. The bathroom sink and tub were stained and the shower curtain had holes in it. There was no hot water in the shower. When I went down to the "fabulous buffet breakfast from 5:30 to 10:00" at 9:15 am, the restaurant was closed and no food remained. None of the food concessions were open or appeared to have been recently. The place looked deserted. When I went to the "business center" (obviously a regular suite with a couple of computers) there was no paper in the printer. As near as I could tell, I was one of about 4 people here.

This place looks old, poorly kept, and dirty with absolutely NO amenities. While close to the JAX terminal, you would be better off sleeping in the airport itself. Would give this a "minus 5" rating if possible. I travel frequently on business and this is the worst experience I have had in years.
