Check in was painless. In fact the personnel were all pretty good. Only one personnel issue during stay but will get to that later. Ice machine was out on my floor. The first night a housekeeper brought me some ice. The second night I had to call twice and about an hour and a half later I got some ice. There are no refrigerators in the unit which I expect at all hotels these days. The hallway carpets are very tired. Storage closets along the hallway are poorly painted and not secure. Funny smells in the hallways. Staff is friendly but not big on ownership of problems. When asked for ice the first night I was told a bellman would bring it. 45 minutes later a housekeeper brought some ice. (The simple answer here is fix the machines!) The second night I asked for ice and I was told a housekeeper would bring some. An hour later I called back and the response was "oh they haven't brought it yet." Follow up is lacking. Again the staff is friendly but not well trained. I would find it hard to recommend this hotel in it's current state . The ice arrived twenty minutes after the second call. Again the staff was friendly and apologetic.
