Check-in and check-out were quick, painless and friendly. In fact, they were the best parts of the stay. The heater in the room set off the smoke alarm and wouldn't cut off until the heater was turned off. When I called the front desk and told the desk attendant, she told me it was due to dust on the coils. I asked her what to do and she told me that we should either not use the heater or to disconnect the smoke detector. I chose to not use the heater.... call me crazy but I would rather freeze than burn up; literally! Then, about an hour later, the toilet stopped flushing. I tried to call the front desk for almost an hour but never got anyone to pick up. Luckily, it started working later that night, but then stopped again in the morning. Not sure why, but I think I am jinxed when it comes it to hotel toilets.
The next morning, I tried to use the fitness center, but found it to be....lacking. The treadmill wobbled side to side when you tried to use it and the tread felt seemed to be sticking on the underside of its rotation for some reason. Not safe. Then, I decided to try the stationary bike but the toe clips were broken, one of the pedals was warped and the handle bars were not attached all the way, making the whole stationary bike feel jittery, as if it was about to fall apart under you.
All in all, not what I used to expect from a Quality Inn. This used to be a decent chain, but the last few have really let me down.
