The hotel itself is ok with relatively new furnishings, etc. The location is great if you have business on this end of town and don't mind the constant highway noise. The worst part of the entire experience was the people that work there. It started right out of the gate. I had scheduled an early check in with the reservation specialist. When I arrived, no one was manning the front desk so I asked the cleaning staff if they could get someone. They retrieved a young woman who was apparently sleeping somewhere in the back. I told her I had requested early check in with my reservation and she said nothing more to me except when she needed my I.D. and credit card. I furnished the cards and she handed me my room key and walked off. Wow. I got to the room and the staff was still cleaning it. I apologized and asked when it would be done. The woman became animated and told me check in time was 3 and I would need to come back after that. I explained my request and that I was assured my room would be ready and she immediately reiterated it would be done no earlier than 3. Mmmk. This was at noon. I came back that evening, relieved the room was empty and looking forawrd to some room service and the Super Bowl. I grabbed a couple of Cokes out of the vending machine and opened the fridge in the room to find it was defrosting and smelled like old beef jerky. Great. So, I called for room service and no one answered the phone. Maybe they are busy, I'll try back in 10. Tried again and still no answer. Maybe they're closed. So I called the front desk and was told the bar tender that takes the orders was really busy, try back later. Um, no. I dont think so. I ordered Papa Johns. Fast forward to Tuesday. I decide to give room service another shot. The exact same scenario played out. "Busy bartender". I will never stay at another Holiday Inn. There was a reason I always stuck to Marriotts worldwide. I strayed from the path and have seen the error of my ways.
