“Wow! Could'nt believe it”

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions, usually the night before i fly out of Jax.Staff has always been helpful, rooms are usually so-so.On a recent stay I was dismayed at first when the desk clerk informed me that the only room available was on the back row.Since i was travelling alone i was very apprehensive and related this to him,i stated that i would take a look and if i didn't like it i would go some place else.Well,I was really surprised, there has been some major renovation done. The room was very clean,it was stocked with all the amenities hotel used to provide, such as shampoo, shower cap, lotion etc.Theres was a blow dryer, ironing board with iron and micro-fridge.I travel quite a lot and most budget hotels no longer offer these things or if they do them there's a charge. For the nightly rate, this was one of the best stays i've had in awhile. Will definitely stay again(will make sure to ask for the same room)

“pleasantly surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2010

had to take daughter to airport and was traveling with pet have stayed in this area many times at marriott hotels but since only staying one night refused to pay 75 nonrefundable pet fee so opted to stay here instead got a 2 room suite for less then the pet deposit at every other hotel in area. Room was large with microwave refrig and two bathrooms.
hotel looks old on outside and there were semis parked in lot (guess since most travel with pets) but once inside you could tell it had been remodeled in the past few years.
it was clean and commfortable

“Terrible serivce!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2010

When we checked into this hotel and receptionist told us we were signed up for the shuttle service and we be out by 11am the next day. 10:30am the nexxt morning we find out she did NOT put us on the shuttle and we had no transportation to get to cruise terminal. This happened to 2 other familes we discovered too!! My husband ran me and the kids to the terminal, raced back to the hotel and hoped a ride with one of these stranded families. Upon return...we had to pay $30 to a taxi driver to take my husband to hotel to get car and he had to drive back to terminal and pick all of us up. A real hassel!! We were promised shuttle service and didn't get any. This hotel was not worth the $100 price tag!! The 2 other familes who we met who got aced out of shuttle service too.....rooms had ANTS and BROKEN GLASS on floor!!! Stay anywhere but here!!!

“NEVER AGAIN”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

We stayed here for one night and that was one to many ! our room had 2 beds and a fold out couch which we needed for all the family. We had only one towel and asked for more , which they had none. I was told to talk to the manager in the morning ! The we had no linens or pillows for the extra bed. So that means someone had no where to sleep !! I asked for a single room since we couldn't use the bed w/out linens and was told no 'not with out paying extra'. I asked how was I supposed to sleep and was told to talk to the manager in the morning.
I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER STAY AT A TRAVELODGE AGAIN !~

“Decent Hotel,pathetic Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

I booked my stay online since it was advertised as a special to park my car while we cruised. I paid for the night before the cruise and the night after the cruise in advance. Upon my arrival I found out for some reason my cared did not go through, but they still had my room for me at a higher rate. No one bothered to call me or email me and let me know that card did not go through. A very nice lady told me no problem, she would take care of everything for me, but my room would not be ready for another hour and gave me points of interest in the city and directions so we would have something to do while waiting(we was a couple hours early) After going out for dinner and returning, we found a different lady working the check in and she proceeded to tell me everything the first lady tole me was wrong. 1 I could not have the lower rate promised by first lady and the shuttle service, I had to pay an additional $54 for, but they would bring me back to the hotel.
Now that it is later in the day and we are leaving the next morning for a cruise, we had to accept the reeming she was offering, figured I would contact corporate when we got back from our cruise and tell them about the "bait and switch" we received. The first lady told me that they would schedule our shuttle ride for us, however the second lady said she could not do that to just be ready between 11 and 1. Well, next morning comes, no calls from her to meet shuttle, finally around 12 we decided to go see what happened and was told she tried to call us and even came to our room to tell us it was time, funny thing is we was there and no one ever knocked on our door, nor did the phone ring. We decided to just stay in the lobby and wait for next shuttle where we was packed in like sardines, my children had to sit on my lap, yet I had to pay $54 for them to have their own seats. Shuttle ride to cruise port was ok other than cramped conditions.
When we returned from our cruise we found there was only 2 shuttles running and not only were they servicing our hotel, but also 3 others. We waited for almost an hour to catch our shuttle back to the hotel. When we finally got back to the hotel, the 1st lady was there and was appalled at how we was treated by the nightshift clerk. She printed up a refund and promised me the manager would refund it asap. It has now been 1 week and the manager still has not had time to refund me my money for the seats we did not use. Everytime we went by the office while there he was on the internet.
Now for specifics of the hotel, beds were horrible, we rented a suite to have seperate rooms from the kids only to find the room was joined and no doors. The sleeper sofa might has well been made of concrete as it was to short to sleep on couch part and the pull out mattress was about 1" thick. On second night stay, we used the laundry room only to have machines take several dollars from us, what did the second shift lady tell us? Sorry, not her problem, call number on machine. Great,we called and got a recording. Ok great, another reason to not come back. After checking into our room the first night, we was stopped by another guest and was told people were breaking into cars everynight and to make sure we did not leave our stuff in our car. Now we had to go to walmart and by another suitcase and take all of our car video players with us on a cruise. Fortunately when we returned our car had not been touched.
The second night stay, the room key machine was broke and we had to walk all the way to the front desk to have them call someone to let us in our room.
I would not recomend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and call the best western across the street. They also offer shuttle service to the cruise port, except they have more dedicated vans to only their hotel. While waiting on our shuttle I met the manager of the hotel who was there himself to make sure his guest were picked up quickly and taken back to his hotel.
