“Great price for a great place”

Sad to read the other reviews ... maybe it is the location .. 'coz we stayed at 53 Jefferson road / Atlantic Blvd and the place was really clean and the rooms were good sized. Two-double-bed and a pull-out sofa with fridge and microwave .. the pool was really clean and the Staff (specially Jazmine - always smiling). Nice hot-biscuit / sausage breakfast. My crew wasn't familiar with the breakfast menu (since we are all from Canada) but once they've tried it - they Loved it!!!. Ample free parking and very friendly guest.
If I ever wandered out in Jax again .. I sure will stay at St. John's suite again.

“Not A Hotel - It's a Rooming House”

Traveled from Minneapolis to begin a new job in Jacksonville. I reserved a room in this place to stay until I found permanent housing and could send for my elementary aged son in a month - 2 months. Got to the hotel right before closing last night and signed for an initial 2 week stay. Within 15 minutes after arriving, I knew it was a huge mistake. Small, filthy room, no pots and pans, no dishes, men wandering the lobby and halls eyeballing my every move, a maintenance security guy who asked me if I was staying there ALONE. In a nutshell, the place was nothing like the internet photos and overall description. Even the maintenance security guy stated it was an apartment building. I would never have come to this place if I knew what it really was. Anyway, I called rigtht away and left a message for the manager that I needed to leave. Next morning, I am told I can get one week + the sec deposit back. I'm loosing a week's money, BUT I am out of here! Try the Studio 6 -- same weekly rates BUT much cleaner, newer and in a much better area of the city! Hope this saves you from making the same mistake as I did!

“TERRIBLE”

this is the worst I've ever seeing... the room is very small and full of dust, the house keeper cleans only once a week, the towels available is very low quality plus they never change it you have to wash them to use, if you don't get out of the room the house keeper won't clean your room (ridiculous) staff not polite , I will never stay here ever again, the reason my husband and I are here is because his company is paying for the stay otherwise we would choose something much better than this piece of garbage

“Not a friendly or safe environment for families”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2010

We traveled to Jacksonville because my wife, who is a cancer patient, and has a rare skin condition, had to go to the Mayo Clinic. When I called this location, my frist question was..Is this a secure and safe place for families. They stated yes. The day we checked in, all was great. Staff was friendly,I advised them of our situation with my wife and how she needed to be in airconditioning during the summer months. They told me if I had any problems to contact the onsite manager and he would get them fixed right away. 24 hrs later, all heck broke loose. (over the weekend)
A/C window unit stopped working (temp in room was 99 degrees), Refrigerator stopped working, and toilet over flowed. Not to mention that part of the ceiling over the walk way by our room had collapsed and missed our kids by a few seconds. I called the onsite manager and he was very rude, had no compassion, and when I asked if we could switch to another room, he told us no there was nothing available (I saw 4 rooms unoccupied) and we had to stay in the room we were given. (5 days in a room that was 99 degrees, with a cancer patient who was ill)
My wife fixed the refrigerator because every bit of money we had was spent on this hotel and food for the week. The toilet fixed itself, after we cleaned up the mess. The A/C stayed the same until the day we left.
Now security issues, during the 5 days we were there, we had people knocking on our door asking for food, money, and transportation to other locations. My wife was approached downstairs at the laundry mat, and at the gas station across the street for money. Then we find out that this person lives in this hotel, went to front desk and nothing was done. Then you had people below you drinking and smoking (illegal sustance). It wasn't until 3 am that someone actually did something about it.

So best advice...do not take your family to this location. It is not safe nor do they care. If your a patient at the Mayo Clinic, find a different hotel.

“Horrible doesn't begin to cover it!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2010

The room was filthy, the smell was gagging, carpet was so dirty that no matter how many times I washed the kitchen and bathroom the carpet filth made the floors black. The refridgerator didn't seal properly keeping food underchilled. Chair had stains so bad no one would want to sit on it.
The Shelby the General Manager was antiguest minded, painfully unprofessional who will take advantage of the guest by not giving a refund if you are unhappy. Even when he suggested that you can check out because you are unhappy.
Cannot wait to leave.
