“Very upset and disappointed with room!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

I arrived to this location late into the night very exhausted from travel. To my disappointment, the room was smelly, toilet had urine on it, and my daughter and I were bitten by what I assume were fleas. Carpet was stained and dirty. Bath tub needs scrubbing. I was worried about safety of the doors since it was an exterior entrance but the door jammed and we almost couldn't get out. I turned in my key and left to find lodging elsewhere @ 1:00 a.m. This location gives La Quinta hotels a bad name.

“Disappointed”

After driving for 17 hrs from NY on our way to Frt Laud, we decided to find a hotel for the night and as we had stayed in Jax bch before & this hotel was just off I-95., we would try it. I was so disappointed, the carpet had stains all over it, the shower had a moldie shower curtain, mold in the grout and you could smell mold as soon as you entered the bathroom.
Not to mention that the toilet didnt flush. The hotel manager was more than gracious when I went to the front desk to relay my disapproval.

“Location + Affordability = La Quinta Baymeadows”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

This Laquinta is in a prime locale. It's right off of I-95. Not to mention the close proximity to different eateries. Just minutes away from the beach, downtown and the malls. The rooms were nice and clean. Beds extra comfy and noise level was non exsistance. Breakfast was included and no charge for the pooch. Definitely will stay again.

“Cheap Price, Safe and Quiet Location, Near McDonalds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

people found this review helpful

Stayed here in late July 2011, and it was a no-frills place that, nonetheless, was clean and safe.

I have stayed at a number of no-frills hotels in Jacksonville, and this one has been the only one I have stayed at so far in a safe area. There is a McDonalds just a few minutes away, and you can see it when you make a left turn to get into the road with this La Quinta Inn, and other motels.

The rooms was clean, but it lacked a fridge and microwave, which is a definite minus to this place. Another negative is that there is some crap motel across from it which seems to attract human garbage to stay there. But they tend to stay on "their side."

On the bright side, it was super quiet the night I was there, and I had no problems. And it is super cheap: I got it for about $50, taxes included. And check out time is a nice, late 12 noon -- sleep in all you want.

If you are looking for cheap, safe, and no frills, this is an ok place to go to.

“Good location, clean rooms, pet friendly, needs a little sprucing up”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

This La Quinta can't be seen from the road, so be sure to get good directions or use your GPS. The area is near a main street and I-95, but a little hidden. When you drive up, it looks like most La Quinta's with the adobe type driveway near the entrance, etc. The beds were comfortable, nice size room. The room had a refrigerator, and I think a microwave. The bathroom was very large. We did not smell anything- as another writer complained about smell and have no major complaints at all. This particular facility is definitely not among the nicest La Quinta's we've stayed at, but the cost is very low, and there was nothing that hindered our sleep or comfort. My brother lives nearby and there were choices of a few very good restaurants just minutes away. My mom needed to see a doctor and that too was less than 5 minutes away. The carpeting in our room, just the area next to the door definitely looked quite warn. I am not used to that when I stay in La Quinta. The side of hotel we stayed on was facing a closed Steak and Ale. I'm used to La Quinta's being nicely landscaped, but this side of the hotel was not. All you saw was the driveway and closed Steak and Ale. There was a very small area to walk the dogs, not especially close to the room, but not far. The appearance of the motel could be improved with digging up some of that parking lot and putting in more landscaping. There is more than enough space to do that without compromising parking. The breakfast was about the smallest choice of any La Quinta I've stayed in. All that said, for the money (we paid just around $50 including tax) the Baymeadows La Quinta was very reasonable and a good place to spend the night.
