We just stayed at The Inn at Mayo Clinic thinking that the price would be worth the convenience....we were wrong! Although the hotel is located "within" the hospital and clinics, the Courtyard Marriott is equally convenient and at far more reasonable prices. In addition, the Inn offers NO amenities other than breakfast. The Courtyard has a full service restaurant & bar; pool; jacuzzi; gym; free internet throughout the hotel & rooms; fridge in room; microwave upon request; wheel chairs; shower chairs; a free shuttle to take you across the road to the Mayo (although it is a two minute walk) and an extremely friendly and caring staff.

In fact, we cannot figure out how the Inn has remained the only blight on the Mayo Campus. It desperately needs updating both in appearance and technology. The front desk staff needs customer relations training because they sorely need to develop a positive, sensitive & caring attitudes towards their guests.

In speaking with other former guests at The Inn at the Mayo Clinic, believe me that our experience was not an isolated case! The Courtyard is as convenient to the clinics and hospital and your stay will be so much more enjoyable due to the cheerful attitudes of the staff and the updated facilities/amenities.

If you are a patient or related to a patient at the Mayo Clinic/Hospital, then do consider ANY hotel in the area before booking at the Inn....you have enough to deal with.

My husband is a liver transplant patient and we have always stayed at the Marriot Courtyard Mayo. However, with him being in the Mayo Hospital, I thought it best to make reservations at the Inn. I was wrong! Rates are high unless you commit to a month's stay; the receptionist was totally insensitive to our situation and there are NO amenities.

On the other hand, the Courtyard Marriott Mayo is great. The entire staff is caring, considerate, and very friendly. The rooms are spacious and equipped with a small refrigerator, free wifi/internet; microwave upon request; pool, gym; jacuzzi,good bar & restaurant!

Do choose the Courtyard over the Inn, you'll be happy that you did!

We stayed in the two bedroom suite seperated by a living room/kitchen area $249. Standard Residence Inn layout. Very Clean, staff very helpful and compassionate. Permitted us to use late checkout which was appreciated to rest between tests at the hospital. Free hot breakfast. You can park the car and not have to more again and use the free hotel shuttle to get to the Mayo hospital cllinics. Hotel is also connected by an inside walking tunnel that connects directly to the hospital. We will stay there again inspite of the cost because of the convenience when enduring multiple tests scheduled at different times during the day.

we were on a trip to the Mayo, this was a convienent hotel,connected right to the hospital, we had a room with a small kitchen and more. If we had had to stay longer it still would have been comfortable. the price was a litle high but it was worth it for us. we also got to spend a little time sightseeing in st augustine which is a beautiful place to visit... we live in southern florida.
