“Centrally located in a historic city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We just spent two nights with our friends (who have a daughter at Gettysburg College) at the Best Western in Gettysburg and it was a great location for touring this historic city. It's located right on Lincoln Square which is in the center of everything. It was within easy walking distance of lots of interesting little shops and there were plenty of great places to stop and grab a bite to eat. The hotel and rooms were clean and very comfortable and the staff was friendly and professional. We had a problem with our shower our first day but we told them at the front desk and it was fixed within an hour.
I read in some of the reviews that people were complaining about paying to park downtown. If you're a guest at the hotel you have unlimited access to the city parking garage located directly behind the hotel included in your stay, all you have to do is have the front desk validate your parking ticket before getting your car.
All-in-all, this is a great place to stay when you visit Gettysburg and we'll be staying there again the next time we visit this piece of American history.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the fifth or sixth floor to get away from the traffic noise below.

“Very Nice, Old Fashioned but up to date”

Overall Gettysburg is overpriced for just about everything. This hotel is no exception, however when I travel, unless I'm specifically looking for a bargain on a business trip, I am willing to pay more for an upscale hotel. Not the best I've stayed at but certainly worthy of 4 stars. The pay for parking is ridiculous, Gettysburg is in the middle of nowhere and there are parking lots for attractions that close early enough that hotel guests could be offered parking in them.

“Wonderful Time”

My son and I just stayed at the Best Western Plus Gettysburg Hotel. We had a WONDERFUL time. The hotel is historic and superbly located right on Lincoln Square. Our room was very clean and spacious, with a lovely view. The staff was professional and friendly, free coffee in the morning, delicious apples at the front desk, complimentary newspapers, easy parking. Would stay there again with pleasure!

“Pass on the Gettysburgh Hotel”

While it might be nicely located, the room were were first assigned was disgustingly dirtly. The carpet was so filthy, I wouldn't take my shoes off. We asked for another room and were given on. This was better...certainly not great. This hotel is trying to go "green" with their lighting. As a result there is super dim lighting in the rooms. It is impossible to read by any of these lights and it gives the entire room a dim, depressed feeling. I would never stay here again. There are too many other hotels that provide clean, bright rooms.
