My family goes on a summer vacation every year and we chose Gettysburg this year. We decided on a 2 bedroom cabin at Round Top Campground, and got a stay 3 nights get 2 free deal. Our cabin was sort of cramped but we had 8 people staying there. Gettysburg is a cute little town and we were right down the road from the National Military Park and the Cemetary. There was even a cute little produce/ceramics stand on the side of the road with very nice owners. So Round Top Campground--it had a VERY large pool which the kids loved. The cabin was nice and had air conditioning which was nice because it was hot outside. Our cabin had a front porch with chairs, a fire ring and a picnic table. I wouldn't recommend this cabin for any more than 3 adults and 2-3 kids, even then it would be cramped and someone would be sleeping on the fold-out sofa. It was just what we needed and even though it was quiet, there were other families with kids around for our kids to make friends with. The campground office has a laundry room as well as an arcade for the kids. Also, Gettysburg is about a 1 1/2 hour drive to Washington DC so we took advantage of that and took a day trip there.

Traveling north with my sons, we elected to tent camp along our journey. Round Top Campground was convenient to the battle field and Gettysburg. Looking at the site map we chose a primitive campsite at the end of the road as indicated on the map with bathroom facilities not far away.. Turns out we were situated in the middle of a trailer park with our tent backing up to someone's property providing no privacy with little to no shade.. This is not what the site map indicated. This is not a place to tent, but more like a long term RV Trailer / Trailer Park.

Round top campground is a little dated but is clean. It is very close to the battlefield.

This was our 2nd stay at Round Top Campground. My kids loved the large pool and the mini golf. The location is great. The office staff was very friendly and helpful.
