“worst Hampton I've seen”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

This is the worst Hampton I've seen. Nasty stains all over the furniture; very dated interiors; a desk with no electrical outlet... really? Is that supposed to be a joke? At least the staff are great, the breakfast is decent, and the bed was not gross. 5/10

I've read a lot of positive reviews on this hotel... all I can say is that I asked for the nicest room, and one of the chairs had a nasty poo-stain on it (the highlight of all the various stains found on the furniture). Hampton Inns are not normally like this.

“Hampton Inn - Predictable and Safe....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Stayed 2 nights for a weekend getaway vacation. Clean, large room with King-size bed. With the typical furniture of desk, closet, large refrigerator, microwave, kitchen sink,...etc. Free wifi access as always. Good hot breakfast buffet with a very pleasant staff overall.
However, indoor pool and jacuzzi were both abit cool in temperature, so did not really enjoy those amenities.
Pleasant overall, safe and predictable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is facing the parking lot. We had a room facing the roadway and traffic continu...

“Very pleasant and convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

We spent three nights (two rooms) at the Hampton, and have no complaints at all. The place was very clean, bright, and well maintained. The room was large and spotless. Perhaps the water pressure in the shower could have been stronger. People were friendly and the breakfast fine, with the make-your-own waffles, plus other egg dishes and lots more. We used the large pool and whirlpool, and much enjoyed them. The place was quiet, and it was very easy to get to the battlefield sites and downtown Gettysburg. We had a very enjoyable time there, and I'm surprised to see some of the negative comments. We'd go back again cheerfully.

Old and noisy, very noisy, both from the interior and exterior sounds. Hot tub/spa, cold and an odd color. Same with pool. Not your best Hampton.

“A Blemish on the Hampton Name”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Unfortunately, I was only able to 'choose one'. This Hampton was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I will say that Hampton has always been my first choice of hotel and I am always more than satisfied but this experience has left me looking for other choices if any exist in the area I want to stay. When I arrived and discovered my room was beside Housekeeping, I asked to be moved to an area away from Housekeeping as I did not want to be wakened by noise in the morning. I was moved - one floor up - beside Housekeeping again. I didn't bother to be asked to be moved again as it was obvious the woman at the Front Desk was inexperienced. The Front Desk was rarely manned and it was difficult to lodge a complaint in person or ask for help. When the Front Desk was manned, it was by people who clearly had no interest in being there. The room itself was musty. The bathtub was filthy - no one could ever be expected to take a bath in that tub. There was either no water pressure or intermittent water pressure. The sink drain was extremely slow draining. The HVAC was extremely noisy. The walls were so thin, I could hear everything in the next room. The first morning, I walked out to a bucket in front of my room because the roof was leaking. The supplies were never replenished and the cleaners left a dirty towel on my bed AFTER they had made it. The springs on the pullout couch were broken. The toaster in the breakfast room didn't toast on one side and burned the other. Overall, this hotel is a huge blemish on the Hampton/Hilton name - it is more than obvious that the owner/management do not reinvest - everything is outdated and maintenance/upkeep not a priority whatsoever. In fact, every time there was someone at the front desk, people were lodging complaints such as mine - musty rooms and filthy bathtubs for example. If it weren't the weekend, and hotel rates higher everywhere else in the area, I would have moved to another hotel. I am extremely disappointed.
