The hotel itself was nice. Located near nice landmarks, and some nice restaurants, it was fairly convenient. The rooms were HUGE which gave the hotel a homey, non traditional feel that was comforting. The staff was so kind and friendly.
I stayed there the wrong weekend though.
The ILMUNC model UN conference was the same weekend I stayed, and it was a mess. The elevators, at certain times, would take anywhere from fifteen to thirty minutes only to be packed into a tiny elevator with fifteen snooty teenagers making jokes. The noise level was INSANE. I heard screaming, singing, and laughing until two or three in the morning, and smelled some nasty things coming from the teen rooms.
The breakfast was delicious, yet so crowded with so many high schoolers. I heard that one group of high schoolers threw a water bottle off the balcony onto someone's car; sounds dangerous to give high schoolers balconies. There were usually some groups of teens barreling up the staircases at all hours of the day. I heard there was an apple fight, with the teens throwing apples at one another in the lobby, and some practical joke with a giant stuffed horse showing up in random places. I'll never understand teens.
Overall, I would go back. It was a great hotel, I only wish the hotel would give sufficient warning to those who are staying during a large high school conference. I have the humor to overlook these small inconveniences, but some people may not.
Room Tip: Closer to the Lobby for easy access, and elevator optional if your in good condition.
