“Great for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2007

We found the aka to be a great place for our weekend stay with our two litle kids. We tried to book at other nice hotels but the suite rates were very high and we feel more relaxed when we're traveling with the kids in a separate but connected room. The kids slept on the couch in the den and we had a luxurious bed in the bedroom. We found the apartment spacious, well decorated, very clean, and the location outstanding. The kids were not able to reach the light switch in the bathroom and the bathroom fan I found especially loud but overall it was quite a relaxing stay. The front desk was very friendly and helpful.

“for these prices you should at least have a DVD”

Stayed there for a few months. This place caters to business travelers or those relocating and charge a premium. Location is great--staff is excellent--front desk to maintenance everyone is very friendly and helpful. You are not paying for your rooms. We started out in an upgraded room- 1 bedroom with DVD. Moved due to noisy neighbor (thin walls) to older room-larger but no DVD player and older appliances. For what we paid monthly they could easily have supplied a cheap DVD player. The kitchen is minimally stocked-which is fine but they could put a little more money into the items. Cheapest knives- they basically went to the dollar store and bought items there. Most of the dishes we had were cracked or chipped.
Bathroom finish out was somewhat sloppy and freezing cold in winter. Had numerous issues with hot water.
If you need a furnished place to live for a few months look into subletting options first.

This is corporate housing, but short stays are accommodated. I had one of the smaller rooms with a full size bed, tv, desk, and armchair. The bathrooms are generally clean and updated. Love the Aveda bath products. The kitchen could use updating but it's not the end of the world. The grime on windowsills and mediocre carpeting could use some improvement but are tolerable. It's not like a I eat off the window sills. The business center and internet access and laundry on each floor are very convenient. The weekday breakfasts are a nice perk, although don't expect anything special (ie boxed donuts, mass produced pastries and muffins). The gym is small but nice with mostly cardio machines. The people working the front desk are very helpful. And last but most important: the location cannot be beat!

  • Liked — Location and convenience
  • Disliked — Kitchen needs upgrade.

“Korman Rittenhouse -- all you could want”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2006

The Korman is a grand building in the best location in the city -- across from Rittenhouse Square, a lovely urban park, and near many restaurants and amenities. The rooms are very well equipped and the building is lovely. But what makes it really special -- apart from its being much more affordable than its highfalutiin neighbors -- is the warmth and helpfulness of the staff. Joe at the front desk was terrific, as was the smiling Katie. And Lynn, the manager on site, was also very helpful, when we realized we wanted a suite rather than a studio, and when we needed a late checkout.
