“Bring a jacket and tie....”

The Union League is an exceptional club with a terrific history and outstanding location. For overnight guests I would recommend you stay in a traditional hotel as you will probably be a bit more comfortable. I stayed because of a luncheon and speech at the League and was very well received, taken care of, and fed. Oh yeah...make sure you have a jacket and tie or you will not be allowed into the dining room or any of the other public spaces....even the business center.

“This will be my last visit to the Inn at the Union League”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

The majority of the staff were rude. They made guests feel as if they were not welcome because they are not actually members of the League. The dress-code is ridiculous. The people that I encountered that were members seemed to think very highly of themselves. The walls in the room must have been as thin as paper because I could hear everything. In short, I strongly advise that you stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you want a tip on a good room, I suggest you book somewhere else.

“English charm, southern hospitality”

Though I'm not a member, I've been a guest on many occasions for functions and meals. As mentioned in my title, this place exudes old English charm and the hospitality is next to none. The food and the service is exquisite. You will certainly not be disappointed by your visit here.

“Class Class Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

This place screams class. Old school, classic motif with paintings and sculptures of US Presidents and historical events. Jackets necessary at all times. No jeans. All the reviews are pretty accurate so read closely, but here's some other stuff to know-

Great breakfast, included in price of room. Omelet station, Belgian waffle station (Best Belgian waffle I ever had), normal bacon, sausage, bagels, oatmeal, pastries, cereal, etc.

$25 parking across the street. Solid price for Philadelphia.

Close to a lot of bars, within walking distance.

Cigar bar and hotel bar are very nice.

Room is OK. Normal hotel room, nothing special really. Only critiques would be if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the inside of the building (not sure if it's a courtyard or if the rooms just don't have windows) because the rooms on the outside are very loud due to street traffic. Walls are also very thin, could hear other people's wake up calls very clearly.

Overall great place to stay in Philly if you want to stay in style.

“A Regal Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The elegance of Philadelphia starts at the Union League. I remember late night snacks at the Library Louge and Holiday Brunches with family. Everyone looked their best and the service was impeccable. I'll stop in the next time I'm in town.
