“Class Class Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

This place screams class. Old school, classic motif with paintings and sculptures of US Presidents and historical events. Jackets necessary at all times. No jeans. All the reviews are pretty accurate so read closely, but here's some other stuff to know-

Great breakfast, included in price of room. Omelet station, Belgian waffle station (Best Belgian waffle I ever had), normal bacon, sausage, bagels, oatmeal, pastries, cereal, etc.

$25 parking across the street. Solid price for Philadelphia.

Close to a lot of bars, within walking distance.

Cigar bar and hotel bar are very nice.

Room is OK. Normal hotel room, nothing special really. Only critiques would be if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the inside of the building (not sure if it's a courtyard or if the rooms just don't have windows) because the rooms on the outside are very loud due to street traffic. Walls are also very thin, could hear other people's wake up calls very clearly.

Overall great place to stay in Philly if you want to stay in style.

“A Regal Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The elegance of Philadelphia starts at the Union League. I remember late night snacks at the Library Louge and Holiday Brunches with family. Everyone looked their best and the service was impeccable. I'll stop in the next time I'm in town.

“Great Hotel Experience”

We stay at The Inn at The Union League whever we're in Philadelphia. It is an elegant place to stay, to drink and to dine, with a calm, old-fashioned dignity to it. Those who are put off by the dress code etc., should consider staying at the Holiday Inn Express. For my family and me, asking people to dress smartly is a reminder that one should be on one's best behavior when in public, and my only lament is that today's traveller needs to be reminded of that fact.

As for the nuts and bolts, the rooms are spacious, tasteful and have some of the most compfortable beds we've slept in. The Center City location can't be beat, and the bars & restaurant provide world-class drinking and dining experiences. Bravo!

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We had three parties of two staying here for a wedding taking place a block away at the Hyatt. Great location (especially close to the wedding we were attending) and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The hotel and the club is gorgeous. Each of our three rooms was different, which is part of what I like about staying in older properties. Though the building is older, the rooms had all the amenities you expect in a hotel room today. The rooms aren't huge, but there is plenty of closet space, enough room to move around with a King-size bed and a desk, and the bathrooms were roomy. Loved the complimentary robes and the complimentary breakfast was great! There was also a small lounge on our floor that had complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, tea, juice and snacks. As for the dress code, we were aware of it before arriving so it didn't take us by surprise. I thought it was nice to stay somewhere where people are dressed nicely. It didn't bother me at all to not wear jeans and tennis shoes while we were there. In fact, I found it added to the charm. Will be staying here again when we visit Philly for fun.
