“Great place to stay”

We stayed here for a couple nights while seeing a concert in Philly. It's in a great location and there are great views from the balcony if you get a room high enough. The room came with a kitchenette and a full-sized fridge, which was nice. There was also a very large closet. There is a nice pool on the roof but get there early because the chairs get taken quickly. The restaurant in the hotel is really nice and the hotel is within walking distance of plenty of things to do. Only complaint is that I must have been there during a busy weekend, the front desk staff took a bit to check us in but were otherwise very competent. The hotel is also attached to a parking garage for parking.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for choosing The Windsor Suites, and your thorough review of our hotel. Please accept our apologies for your delay at check-in. Though we aim to offer the best experience, unfortunately things do not go as smoothly as we would like sometimes.
We note that you enjoyed our views and amenities, as well as our rooftop pool. This is generally very popular amongst our guests, and we look forward to reopening it on or before Memorial Day.
Thank you again for taking the time to offer your feedback. We look forward to having you with us again the next time you are in Philadelphia.

“It's all about location and price”

The Windsor Suites are really well located for Philadelphia visitors. The price is right. But as my mother told me, you get what you pay for. The room I was perfectly adequate. Bed was average. While the bathroom had been updated, the shower was really bad (tiny and low pressure). My colleague had a totally renovated room which was much nicer. Front desk folks are really nice. So, I'd probably stay here again because of the location and price, but I would insist on a totally renovated room. Don't forget your toothbrush either. They don't have them to give to you!

“Value for money”

The hotel is close by to the subway which you may not need to use as everything is well within walking distance. The rooms are clean and spacious although some may consider them a little worn but was fine for our purposes. The staff were also very helpful and professional. If you plan on using the cooking facilities on a regular basis the best place to get fresh ingredients is the Reading Market which is about a ten minute walk but is well worth it - also home of great takeaway places and fantastic cake/Amish puddings suppliers. There isn't a major supermarket nearby but there is a small mini mart nearby. Felt safe anywhere we went and the locals were very friendly and helpful.

Dear HullUKAnon,
Thank you for your comments on your stay with us. We noticed that you ventured over to the Reading Terminal Market for supplies. That market is amazing in size and variety and should not be missed, but there is a smaller option for fresh ingredients, snacks and a food court at The Market at Comcast Center. This is just next door to us, and is very convenient for quick trips.
We hope you will stay with us again soon. Thank you for choosing The Windsor Suites!

“Horrible night's sleep - Avoid this hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

If you want a good night sleep, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

Family and I were supposed to stay at Windsor for two nights, but checked out after one after having one of the worst nights sleeps we ever had.

Beds/pillows were the most uncomfortable of any hotel we ever stayed at. These were horrible. Note to Windsor: Don't buy the cheapest beds/pillows you can find.

Additional problems included:

* headboard on one of the beds broke off and fell to the floor
* couch had rips in it
* walls paper-thin - could easily hear people in room next door (and I don't think they were overly loud)
* room was way too hot and there was no way to adjust it down

Given the price of the room we were definitely not expecting the Ritz...but we were expecting a lot more than we got from Windsor.

Avoid this hotel and spend the few dollars more to stay at Embassy Suites next door. That's where we moved after our horrible night here.

“Central location & spacious room at good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at the Windsor Suites in Philadelphia. We were there for marathon week-end (November 20 to 23, 2011) and the hotel was full. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. We were really pleased with the amenities (full kitchenette and pots&pans). The only negative part of the room was the hot water which we thought was intermittent. A technician came in our room twice to attend to this issue. But we later learned that if we let the water run for about 5 mins hot water starts to come out. This is a bit annoying and big waste of water at the same time. We would definitely go back there despite this little problem since there was hot water it just took some time to get it...
