Stayed in this hotel in December with my family & it was a wonderful experience. Had 2 adjoining rooms (king, 2 queens) on the 9th floor & the views were spectacular! Overlooking Independence Park & listening to the clickety clack of the horse & buggies going by - it felt quite authentic. We also by chance had a corner room & the light from all of the windows was amazing. If possible, request a corner room on a high floor. Location in the historic district couldn't be better - walking distance to South St. restaurants, Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross, Market St. & a short cab ride to museums. Much more charming staying in this colonial part of town than in the business districts. You truly get a feel of the birthplace of America.
Staff was incredibly welcoming from the minute we checked our car into valet parking ($37/day, steep but very worth it) as well as the front desk and any requests we might have had (bedding for the pullout sofa bed for my daughter).
As a Select Guest member (worth signing up for, no cost), you also get a free pot of coffee (or beverage of choice) delivered right to your room which is a great little perk.
Rooms were super clean & beds very comfortable. Nice pool which was great for the kids (but perhaps could stay open a little later??).
Side note (not related to hotel): GREAT dining experience at Marrakesh, authentic Moroccan restaurant on quaint little side street near South St. not far from hotel. Go hungry!!
Would highly recommend this hotel & hope to return again.
Room Tip: High floors have great views of Independence Park. Corner rooms have great light.
