“Nice quick weekend escape!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed at this property from Feb 11-12, 2012 for a quick get away. The staff was vey courteous and the room was well appointed. Our fountain front room had a great view. The Fountain restaurant was fantastic! We ate there for dinner and again for breakfast. One disappointment, however, was that when we reserved the room we were asked if we were there for a special occasion, we let them know that we were- it was part of our 20th anniversary celebration. This fact translated into a greeting by the hotel staff saying "Happy Anniversary". St Regis hotels usually will welcome a "special occasion" guest with an amenity, something other than a greeting. Still confused why they wanted to know.

Room Tip: Fountain view rooms have great views

“Nice hotel with great views.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I am struggling to remember what the room looked like even though I was just there this week. The hotel had great views, and the lobby was impressive, but once you left the lobby, the hotel felt dated and my colleagues continued to call it haunted. The halls definitely give away the hotels age, but the rooms were nice. It would have helped had they not smelled so strongly of perfume, but I left my window open to get rid of the smell.
I liked the higher end shampoo and conditioner, as well as the soaps. It added a touch of class that was subtle, yet appreciated. The rooms are on the smaller side, and they are pricey for how small they are, but the location is great, and so are the views. Great place to stay if you are going to sight see, or visit museums.

“Amazing Hotel With Up To Date Amenities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I stayed here for a very short time... However, the short time I was there I knew it was a place that I would want to go back to. The service, the room and the decor were all up to par. I had a one bedroom corner room with plenty of space.

The lobby bar was really nice. The night I was there, was a cold winter night and had a fireplace that you could sit in front of and order small appetizers and different drinks.

If you are looking to a hotel with a nice pool/spa and hot tub this hotel had it.

The price for valet parking was a little bit pricey, but I expected that considering where I was staying.

The hotel was clean, up to date and felt very inviting.

I have now stayed at the following in PA;
1. Ritz Carlton - Great Location - No Pool - First Class Service
2. Four Season - First Class Service - Amazing Pool and Spa
3. Rittenhouse. - Great Service, bathroom was HUGE - more of an an World Class hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room

“Great Overall But Disappointed with Some Changes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Wife and I went for a weekend getaway from Lancaster. We always love to stay at the FS Philly and this was our 5th or 6th stay in the last 3-4 years. Check in, bell service, concierge (Patty) and service were all terrific. Dined at the Fountain Restaurant which was superb. Server Gabriel was terrific. Female maitre d was poorly dressed should have been wearing a suit or something more formal. Reception Blaire very charming and welcoming. Upgraded through AmEx to One Bedroom Suite whcih was spacious with nice Fountain view. We were very disappointed with some changes that are designed to make the bar and restaurant more casual. The bar has added two large TV's which are horrific. They have also discontinued the live piano in the evenings in the bar- another huge disappointment. It no longer feels like a FS in this room - just a Westin or Hyatt, what a shame. They did have a pianist on Saturday afternoon but only for an hour from 4-5 during tea. It now feels like just another hotel bar, not the classy, sophisticated room that is used to be. Spa treatments were nice. House car service was terrifc. Concierge Patty pulled off a miracle in getting us a reservation at Butcher & Singer Saturday night - it was booked until 10 but thanks to her, we had a prime seat at 7.30 and were treated special. They also missed a turn down. We will return because in our view, FS is in a class of its own, but we encourage management to bring back the pianist as it created an atmosphere of elegance that distinguished this location from other fine hotels in the city. However, attention to detail has slipped just a bit.

Room Tip: Fountain View however in winter the fountain is not running
