“Convenient to Penn, Friendly and NIce (if a bit generic) remodel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

In the heart of the University of Pennsylvania, this Sheraton is a bit oddly designed with a tiny lobby and hidden bank of elevators on the first floor, but upstairs it is a standard Sheraton. I was upgraded at check in to a nice Club Level room which was recently renovated in a tasteful if not very adventurous style. Bed was comfortable, nice large flat screen TV, well designed work area, free internet which was relatively speedy, and a computer in the room (?) which seemed like it was in desperate need of IT help but nice to have anyway. I spent precious few hours at the hotel, so can't comment on the food, business services, or workout facilities.

“Good stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Easy access to UPenn campus makes this a no-brainer. Satisfied with a clean, comfortable stay. Not the fanciest place (hotel lobby is ho-hum), and I had difficulty getting the heating in my room to operate properly (hold down the temperature buttons, and you'll need to constantly jack up the temperature to get the unit to kick in instead of just blowing air). Internet access in room, even if you don't have a device, which is unique - had to shut off the monitor at night though because the light is bothersome).

“Enjoyed our New Years Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Place was affordable, parking is on premises and $25 a night. Internet is free and there is a computer in each room. Starbucks coffee in the rooms and there is a Starbucks a minute from the hotel. The blue line is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There are a few cool little spots a block down from the hotel, I can't think of the exact name but is something like the dog cafe. Also there is a little convenience store across the street.

“Convenient location is all it has to offer...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

If you're looking for convenience, this hotel has it. There are some great restaurants within walking distance. The train station is a short cab ride away (would have walked it, but the train station security strongly advised against it). The metro is just around the corner.

HOWEVER, this hotel was not quiet at all, and repeated complaints to management resulted in no help. Beds were average, cleanliness average, staff were if average help.

“We had a nice stay here.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

High points:
- nice view (we were on 18th floor),
- reasonably quiet,
- comfortable bed
- good-sized room - we had 2 cribs inside ours and still had space to move around. (The cribs took some time to be delivered to our room; fortunately, we weren't in a rush.)
- great restaurant
- very convenient to university city

Low points:
- there can be quite a wait for the elevator, especially at busy times of the day or if an event lets out downstairs
- building is old, though the furnishings are new
- parking lot is very cramped

Overall, if you're looking to stay in University City, this is a good choice.
