We stayed at the Bellevue for one night staying downtown for a family event. We got a great deal on Priceline so I wasn't sure what to expect in regards to this hotel. We took a chance and it worked out perfectly.
First, the location is centrally located. Right next to City Hall and within walking distance to all Walnut Street shopping, the Kimmel Center and theaters. We didn't use a cab all weekend.
We self-parked at the adjacent parking garage and I think it was about $19 for the night.
Our room was humungous. So much space. I will say the decor is very dated and could use an update. But there is something charming and historical feeling about it. We had an interior room so we didn't have a view of the outside but of the courtyard in the middle of the hotel where they have events. It was fine for just one night, but if you want a view, be sure to ask.
Service was great. My parents were celebrating their 40th anniversary and they sent chocolate covered strawberries and champaign up the room. So kind. And we h ad a really helpful Bellman take us up to our rooms and help with luggage. Great old fashioned service.
We had drinks at the hotel bar/restaurant XIX. Gorgeous space. Fireplace, dim lighting and great menu. It gets very crowded at night as it's a Philly hot spot. We ended up at the nearby Ritz for a night cap instead. 1 block away.
Overall, I feel like we were really lucky in getting this hotel at such a discount. It was very comfortable, so convenient and a special place. We'll definitely stay there again!
