We rented unit #10 (the Doctor's House) at the Fort Casey Inn. We brought several teenage girls along for a weekend getaway at the beach. This is a 100 year old two story Victorian . There were two bedrooms and a bath upstairs and a living room & kitchen on the main floor. The house had a lovely front porch for sitting (although the weather didn't allow us to use it) and was fully furnished.
We enjoyed the home. It was nicely furnished with older appointments. The furniture was comfortable but not elegant. There was no TV or phone, which made for a great escape. The kitchen had ample supplies to cook. Each bedroom had a full size bed that was quite comfortable. A roll-away was also available. The rooms and bathroom were clean although the dishwasher and toilet were stained by the minerals in the water.
I can't rate the service as we had no need for any. There was a note with a phone number advising that if something was needed there was someone to call.
The location is what makes this place wonderful. It is on "officer row" but this is the only separate home they rent (the other are duplexes). This unit sits in a wooded setting with a view across the valley. Through the woods to the south is the beach and Puget Sound. A short walk leads to Fort Casey. Both are great places to explore. Deer roamed the property in the evening. It was very serene.
If you are looking for a fancy place to stay where you will be pampered this is not the place for you. But, if you are looking for a clean, quiet and unique place in wonderful setting, this place is perfect.
