“Great Adventure”

Awesome people and awesome place. Don't go expecting anything. Open mind is the best because they have open hearts. You will become part of the family the second you walk in the door and you will experience love compassion and an adventure of a lifetime. Frank is a wonderful individual and anyone would be lucky to spend a day with him. The things I learned from him will stick with me for a lifetime. This trip changed my life; emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Thank you Frank and Julianne you two have beautiful souls and I can only hope that our paths will cross again.

“A Home Away from Home”

My Wife and I took a road trip for my birthday and Devils Tower was the first destination. We travel in a truck/camper, and the morning after we arrived (we arrived late after a long drive) were greeted over morning coffee like old friends with a generosity that is unparalleled. The same generosity that makes Frank, and Juliana's (& Felipe, one of their guides this season) home feel as comfortable, if not more comfortable as your own, brings out the very best in those who stay there. Morning coffee and a quiet conversation about climbing with Frank and other guests felt like a long established tradition, and listening to the days adventures over amazing home cooked dinners was the perfect conclusion to every day. As my wife does not climb the advice on trails to hike and on finding partners to climb with greatly added to the experience. Simply put, the atmosphere fostered is one of contagious happiness. Though I did not climb with their guiding service I did have the opportunity to watch both Frank and Felipe work during my climbs, and can say that they are both highly skilled guides. Franks knowledge of the Tower is stunning. Sharing a ledge with Frank while descending from my birthday roped-solo accent of the Tower was a highlight, and I hope to return as soon as my/our schedule allows.

“What can I say Frank is a Legend”

Just got back from a trip up to the tower! This time we stayed in Franks yard where he lets climbers graciously stay for free. Not only is there a toilet, but hot showers as well! We decided to show our appreciation by helping out on the roof to remove all the shingles, tar paper, and thousands of nails in preperation for a roofing crew to finish the job. We enjoyed a hard day of work on the roof as our "rest day". After enjoying summiting the tower via assymbline, and climbing 5.10 cracks on the west face. At days end we enjoyed a gracious meal of devils tower climbers stew, and blondies prepared by the lovely hostess Juliana!! We enjoyed good company, and spectacular views. I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: ask for the room with the tower view!

“we didn't climb, but........”

my wife and I spent two nights at the Devil's Tower Lodge in August. When they say they have views of the Tower, they mean it! We ware amazed that the property is located just outside the Nationa Monument park. Our room had a large picture window at the end of the bed that faced the Tower; we were so close that we felt we could touch it! The hospitality was outstanding; everyone, including the other guests were friendly and welcoming. Even though we are not climbers, we would definitely stay here again. Kathy and Joe D.

Room Tip: we had the "artist studio" it was great

My dad and I wanted to do a special adventure as a father/daughter so we chose a summit trip with Frank. The hospitality at the lodge was absolutely wonderful and everyone there went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Beautiful property overlooking the Tower the rooms were lovely. Meals were all homemade and delicious! I can not wait to do a return visit to better my climbing skills! I would recommend Devils Tower Lodge to anyone with or without climbing experience or even if you are just traveling thru the area!
