We stayed here as a family for 1 night whilst travelling from San Fran to Vegas. It's an ideal place to stop and the welcome was nice and friendly. The room was plenty big enough and clean. Would definitely consider again and if I was to come here in the winter - would check it our for somewhere to stay again.

VERY Dis-Appointed . Good job i did not pay the full rate. very out dated hotel, we were in the usa for 4weeks it was not our worst but a close 2nd. IT IS A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL not sure if i got my bites from the bedding or the country walks during the day.Old bedding Old Bed Old Tv Poor Internet very small breakfast room had to wait over an hour before my party of 7 can be seated (only 4 tables). STAFF was ok to start with but soon as we mentioned we booked via hotwire the tone was altered to you one of them are you you get what you pay for . if only the would spend some money it in a great party of the country but needs updating.

For the price, we found Shilo Inn to be a disappointment. The fitness center was closed due to broken equipment. The swimming pool was stained and appeared a bit cloudy (though this could be due to the staining). The hot tub was only slightly warmer than the pool, also stained and not very inviting. The TV was old with limited selection of channels. Complimentary continental breakfast was simple but adequate.

The 1970s TV and radio/alarm in the rooms tell you everything.

Really dreary rooms really need refurbishing completely.

Desk staff efficient-ish but not exactly friendly.

Pool is quite nice and steam room great but sauna doesn't heat properly.

Free breakfast basic but adequate, but space available to eat it just off the lobby is hopeless when there are more than 2 families there. Usual horrible plastic/polystyrene cups, plates, cutlery. Very American, unfortunately.

I'm undecided on the "would you recommend?" but on balance would say look for better at the price.

Free wi-fi sort of works.

Dreary.

Mammoth Lakes is a cool place though - rent bikes in town, go up the ski lift and spend 2 hours coming back down - fantastic!
