“Good place to stay close to the slopes but thin walls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Stayed at the Sierra Nevada Lodge for 3 nights during a recent ski trip. The lodge is located close to the Village and surrounded by stores and places to eat nearby. We appreciated that the female clerk at the front desk was considerate enough to put us in a room away from a high school group that was staying there at the time, so we would not be bothered by their noise. The lodge is currently remodeling all their rooms and from what I hear the look pretty nice. We stayed in one of the older rooms which were basic, but fine. Our room had a microwave and small fridge which comes in handy when you have a toddler with you. The room and bathroom were clean. The walls are thin and you could hear all the conversations going on in the room next to ours. Hopefully the remodel includes some insulation in the walls to drown out noise. The beds are adequate, not the best and not horrible. The simple breakfast provided at the restaurant next door was sufficient and a nice start to our day. The lodge has a nice lobby with a fireplace, pool table, bar and computer for surfing the net. We would stay here again and would like to stay in one of the remodeled rooms to see the improvement. Overall they do a nice job and our stay was a good one.

“Exactly what it looks like”

Stayed with my son on a weekend ski trip. The lobby was great as we could hang out and play pool (for free) after dinner while watching sportscenter (and not be holed up in the room). On Sat. night the bar was open for a while and had a decent bottle of wine. Nice outdoor hot tub. Rooms were fine to crash between ski days. I will definitely look to stay there again on our next trip.

“Cozy place at the feet of Yosemiti”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We stayed in low season, where prices are a bit lower. Room was clean, friendly and nice!
Unfortunately the Sauna in the top floor only heated up untill 40 ° C. Breakfast next door at Rafter's was good and tasty. Great location as a base for daytrips!
Parking spaces next to hotel entry.
My recommendation!

Room Tip: Take a room at the first floor = better view & calmer

“expected average but fell short”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We booked a 5 night stay right after Christmas including their continental breakfast.

The first night, the smoke detector went off 5 times every few hours. They finally came out to fix it and just removed it from the room.

The continental breakfast included cereal, fruit, bagels, yogurt, muffins, toast, and coffee. Each time we went they were out of most everything except toast and coffee. Not worth the extra dollars paid. The restaurant where it was held did not run out of these items.

Shower was at a trickle and you either had hot or cold - no ability to control the temperature. The shower head shot upward spray flooding the bathroom floor.

“Very pleasant. Cant complain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Accomodation was in a deluxe beachfront villa, with terrace that opened onto pure white sand, rooms were large with four poster bed, food was excellent, we used the buffet style restarant and we were never dissapointed.

Staff were polite and only too happy to help.

In all one of the most magical and perfect holidays I have been on.

Would return tomorrow, but will have to wait until next year.
