“Had a Wonderful Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2010

We had a wonderful experience at the Extended Stay America in Bethlehem, PA. We were in Allentown on business and stayed in this hotel for over 2 months. The hotel was kept very clean and the staff was over-the-top accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff cooperated with us on a variety of special needs that we had to complete our business. We would definitely recommend this property!

“Is this really a hotel?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2008

I'd have to call this REALLY limited service. I'm not quite certain how they get away with not providing maid service with the cost of staying in a room. Is this supposed to be like renting an apartment or something? At any rate, my bathroom had a pile of hair in the corner of the floor, there were stains on the carpet, my comforter had a couple of holes in it, and the coffee maker was filthy. It wouldn't have been so bad had there been some dishsoap provided in the kitchen, but there was none. Nor was there actual coffee, for that matter. I guess guests are expected to bring in all of their groceries? Coffee/tea/sugar/creamer are standard, though, so it's weird that those weren't provided but an actual coffeemaker was. No shampoo either. But I did have a little bar of soap. So I guess I could have used that to wash my entire person as well as my coffee maker. I'm glad that this place was around because I needed somewhere to stay after Musikfest, but next time I'll book earlier at a nicer place. This one is bordering on "dump."

  • Liked — That I had a bed somewhere for the night
  • Disliked — That it was not clean and did not provide any amenities

“Peaceful, very clean and a wonderful management!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2008

My husband and I found this hotel thru searching for a hotel that had a kitchen and we found this one. We stayed for 5 days 4 nights. The desk clerk that was working the afternoon we arrived was very helpfull and gave us all the information we needed since this was our first time in Bethlehem. We had stay in hotels that had 4 stars and they wern't as clean as this hotel. The maintenance department keep the whole place sparklle clean and smell fresh as u walk tthru the hallways. If you are willing to bring your own blow dryer and be willing to get fresh towels everyday.. this is the place to stay. The room that we stayed had a qeen size bed and a kitchen with a full refrigerator. The noise level is very low and the best thing about this hotel is that everything is close to you. If you want to walk u can. If u get a chance take a ride to downtown Bethlehem and have a romantic walk and dine outdoors or read a book in a cafe parlor. Bethlehem Is a great plave to relinkindle your love with your hubby.. We had a great time.. Enjoy your stay and please tell others about this place. Is worth it!!

“Limited service hotel that is acceptable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2007

Stayed for two nights. Chose the hotel for location (near suba diving at Dutch Springs), price ($79), and that they mostly had rooms with two beds ... as I was staying with my son.

Check-in was fast and friendly. Room was clean. Two double beds with kitchenette. They do not have rooms with two queen beds. Decent size room. Older TV but a good selection of channels (>20, including Cartoon Network for the kids). Pillows were large and rather lumpy, but the mattresses were fairly supportive. Walls rather thin; TV and shower next door noticeable. Wireless internet was $4.95, and a one-time charge (for two days). It worked well each time, and connectivity was fast. I was a bit disappointed that this budget hotel did not have free internet access, but much of the strategy of Extended Stay America is targeted at minimizing costs (see limited service below). Facility also has vending machines and coin laundry.

There are not negatives as much as "things one should be aware of." First and foremost, this is a limited service hotel. There is no daily maid service. There is a daily towel exchange available from the front desk. However, if you are staying less than seven days, any maid service is extra ... there are two tiers of service for either $5 or $10. If you are staying for more than a few days, and/or plan on having "activities" in your room - the lack of any cleaning service could be of concern.
Misc: No shampoo or conditioner provided - although a card indicated it could be obtained from the front desk. No wake-up service; you have to use the alarm clock. Front desk is not staffed from 11pm-7am.

If cost is your major selection criteria, and you can do without any maid/cleaning service, this place is quite acceptable for a few nights. For ~$30 more per night, one could get a hotel with cleaning service and a pool. It depends on what you can do without.

“Good place-good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2006

My preferred chain (with it's loyalty points) was not available, so I looked for the next best lodging within gov't rate. ExtendedStay got the 1-nite reservation.

Geared to longer-term customers, the desk staff was still very courteous and helpful. The room was well equipped and very reasonably priced for the suite accomodation. The facility seems pretty new and pretty good quality. Minor quibbles: TV was small screen, & level of cleanliness in the hall and stairs was not perfect. But parking was convenient, location was good - easy to find, bed was very good, room was quiet, wireless access was available. All in all a hassle-free stay.

I would stay again.
