If you just need a place to stay without the frills, then the Super 8 will work for you. However, if you would like to have some extra amenities, look elsewhere.
First thing - check in was somewhat slow. We used another website's "un-advertised" prices and this is the hotel it chose (a better name-your-own price website filters out these kind of hotels because of the bad quality). The staff was nice - but they did tell us that we reserved a smoking room. So I asked to see if we could change it to a non-smoking room if required (my wife is pregnant) - and he said for an extra $5 a night, that would be possible.
We walked into the first room and there was a horrendous smell of smoke - almost like the worst room was given to us in order to get an extra $5 per night. Went back down and paid the extra $20 for our stay to go to a non-smoking room.
Walked into the non-smoking room and it smelled musty and moldy. We found hairs in the sheets and in the bathtub of the room.
The room did come with a "wet bar" which included a sink (the hot and cold were backwards) and a microwave & fridge. Microwave worked when we made some popcorn, and the fridge also worked - but smelled bad as well.
The wireless Internet was very spotty because whomever set it up - didn't do so correctly. They either set the signal so low that you barely could maintain a connection (we got bumped off dozens of times and was very aggravating), or it was because the access points all had the same "name" and were all using the same channel causing conflicts. The wireless Internet also attaches a scrolling banner at the top of your browser window showing news of the day.
However, the pillows and beds were comfortable - but the rooms definitely needed to be overhauled with the smell, cracks in the wall, and the windows that fogged up and were in need of repair.
The breakfast - or lack thereof - only included a choice of two cereals and danish rolls. Because were were on a budget, we made it work.
There were other amenities that we didn't use - because it was cold - such as the outdoor pool or the computer in the lounge (15 minute limit and they charge $1 per sheet printed and $1 for every minute over 15). They also did have a pay laundry machine/dryer. We did use the ice machine and it worked well.
The hotel was conveniently located off US-41 so it was easy to find - and central to the beaches that we wanted to go to - that were both north and south of the hotel.
Was this a 2-star hotel? Absolutely not. We stayed at a 2.5-star rated hotel for three nights prior to arriving here - and it was like a 5-star hotel compared to this one. This hotel should only be a 1-star hotel.
So, if you are on a budget and you simply need a place to stay for the night of a couple of nights, this may work out for you - but don't expect anything else.
