Stayed here while driving through. The suite was nice and the breakfast was good. The only drawbacks were: uncomfortable mattress and sofa bed. Apparently, they are planning to upgrade them.

Room 513 was clean and comfortable. A/C workedgood! H2O was HOT! Queen bed plus sofa bed and fully equipped kitchen w/plates and utensils was functional. Unit was small with signs of age but we just needed a comfortable place to sleep. It worked out fine and we will recommend it. Pool was clean and relaxing at 9PM. BIG assortment of items for the complimentary breakfast even 2 hours after opening. One parking lot running the length of the property was well lighted.

I stayed here for 2 nights and paid $47 per night (I consider that to be an excellent price). Although I arrived early at 12:30 PM (normal check-in time is 3:00 PM), they were very friendly and let me check-in early. Their outdoor pool was great and the suite I had was large and fully equiped . The parking lot was full later ( a good sign in these times) and their free breakfast was very good with an extensive selection (11 out of 10). I have stayed in several neighbourhood hotels to this one in recent months and I consider this Hawthorn to be better than some of the other places in the area. No ... it's not a brand new facility but I felt it was fine.

first of all, i rarely write reviews. but this time i must. we stayed here one night because our power was off due to a storm. when we arrived, we discovered that the room reserved for us was on the second floor, even though i had requested an assessible room. in fairness, the clerk talked to the manager and switched rooms for us. all staff were very pleasant.

when we entered our room, there was a musty, dirty smell. the carpet was not clean and there were stains on the couch. we checked the bed and found the sheets to be clean. but when we showered, we discovered the towels were musty and dingy. we decided to 'make do' because we were exhausted from the aftermath of the storm.

the bed was soft and squeaky. it was difficult to move, once in bed, because the mattress was so worn... no support.

we left early in the morning, not wishing to have their breakfast. honestly, i was concerned about the cleanliness of the dining area and food if they were like the room. i want to be clear, i did not check out the dining area. i just didn't want to take any chances.

i suggest passing this place up for one of several hotels in the immediate area.
