“Stayed again...”

We really enjoyed our stay here at the La Quinta Ventura again. We brought our dog, Jasmine, with us this time and were thrilled that she was welcomed at no charge! We had a great room that was very quiet and the beds have been upgraded to allow you to fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow!!! I was especially grateful for this...I don't really do well if the bed is uncomfortable...we had a great stay in Ventura. Ate at Blackbeard's BBQ on Spinnaker where they welcomed Jasmine on the deck that afternoon with fun, music and treats! We took the dog to the beach for the first time...such much fun. Tony had a Dr. appt in town and we woke to a bit of rain but it was welcome as we are from the desert. Thanks again for a nice stay.

Room Tip: We asked for a room that didn't face the highways.

“Great value so close to the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

This hotel is really clean, friendly and in a good location near the beach. Our family got a suite which is necessary in my opinion if traveling with a family. It had everything we needed to make our 3 night stay comfortable. I would only suggest not picking a room close to the elevator or doors. Heard the door closing and the elevator going all though the night, wah... You can hear the street noise but not as bad as I would have suspected given how busy it is around there. We checked out other nearby hotels and the noise much worse in some others. Our teenage boys like going over to Denny's for a complimentary (or was it $5.00 off coupon) breakfast. It was a nice stay for the money and we'd do it again!!

Room Tip: Stay away from elevators and doors!

“Great deal for the $”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We have stayed here a 1/2 dozen times when visiting relatives over the past 2 years. This is why we like it.
1. Cheap. As low as $55-70.
2. Pet friendly. We take our two dogs, plenty of space for their dog beds inside the room and a place to walk them right out the door.
3. Clean. A small desk and work area, free wifi.
4. Nice breakfast with alot of variety.
5. Best part? Very friendly staff. They try hard to please.
6. Tip-ask for a room on the interior. Even though close to the freeway, it's not noisy.

Room Tip: request room in interior courtyard for less noise

“Pet friendly and economical”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Accepts pet without additional fee. $85 Large king 2 room suite approximately 500 sf. High ceiling 2nd room. Comfortable king bed. Close proximity to US-101. Quiet. 2 large flat screen TV. Quiet fans in second room. Free waffle, egg, yogurt, and etc breakfast. Pet area with bags. Smelly in the morning parking lot due to location next to RV park. Low showerhead. Programmable Thermostat. Large windows in both rooms. One window can open so travelers with children and pets beware since the room is on the third floor and the window is a few inches from the floor. Quick service. One head rest on the recliner was dirty and the handle was chewed up. I rated it very good due to the size of the room and price in comparison with surrounding pet friendly hotels.

“Old, but clean and friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This La Quinta could use a makeover, but it's clean. The staff were pleasant. It accepts a pet with no additional fee. The lamps by the beds did not work. The shower looked old but the water was very hot and plentiful. The bed was a bit soft for my taste, but I would stay here again if I'm in the area.
