Good place to stay in Ventura. Excellent value for price. Clean updated rooms. Nice hot breakfast and free happy hour! Their staff is very nice.

We stayed for 3 nights starting Nov. 17. Our room was quite large with a working gas fireplace.
The decor was not memorable but the bed and other pieces of furniture were comfortable. We were not bothered by the freeway noise or the sound of the railroad trains. The free breakfast was good for this type of food.

The biggest plus was the location. It is less than 3 blocks to the beach and a few blocks to Main Street and old Ventura. Fridge and microwave were fine. Free Internet was slow. Lots of restaurants are within walking distance. Overall good value.

Stayed here for one night on a trip up the coast. Room was good sized & clean, stayed on the side of the building away from the building and noise was not an issue. Full breakfast in the morning was a nice way to start the day.

My fiancee and I stayed here for a night on the way up the coast, and were quite impressed! The price was incredibly reasonable (we stayed here becuase it was a third the cost of a comparable hotel in Santa Barbara), and the positives far outweighed the negatives. Here's a quick rundown:

Pros:

-Huge room
-refrigerator in room
-microwave
-free breakfast (with great biscuits and gravy!)
-free WIFI
-free happy hour (though we weren't able to take advantage of it)
-ocean view (though slightly obscured by the train tracks)

Cons:

-thin walls (we could clearly hear people in the adjoining rooms and the hallway)
-weak water pressure in shower


We didn't have any problem with freeway noise, and found this to be quite a convenient place to stay. Check-in was quick and friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone staying in the area!
