“Holiday Inn Sunland park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My experience with Holiday in sunland park has been excellent. They are truely a home away from a home. All staffs were so great. I have a lot of time with them and get to know them personally. They tried to make your stay as comfortable as they can. Restaurant staffs, Bartender (Jorge and others ),. Chef (Roslando and others ), and Front Counter staff (Elizabeth and others), drivers, and housekeeping staffs are one of the best. I cannot complain anything about their service. I enjoy stay it at this place. Two thumbs up!!!

Room Tip: good internet connection

“Excellent Long/Short Term Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I've stayed at this hotel about 100 nights in the past two years. The staff is very attentive to detail, they make it a point to learn your name and habits, and are always friendly and cooperative. The rooms are very good - maid service always does a great job. The pool and hot tub are open all year round and kept in great shape. Workout facilities are top notch, room service is always prompt and the food is good.

Manager's reception on Tuesday evening is always a good time. Luis and Thelma take great care of you in the morning for a quick breakfast before work, and Jorge knows what you want to drink in the evening before you even ask. If you have any issues at all, just ask for Elizabeth. She treats all guests in a very courteous and professional manner and can accomplish any seemingly impossible to routine task with amazing efficiency.

I highly recommend this hotel - you won't be dissapointed!

Room Tip: Ask for good wireless room - some are better than others.

“Accomadations Holiday Inn El Paso Sunland”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Stayed Jan 13 and 14 2012. Room was small and bathroom very small. Carpet showed stains and did not appear clean. Bedding was clean but worn and need of replacement. Rooms are set in quads with direct street access which is not the safest. However they do allow small pets so the access makes it easier for that reason. Interstate access is great in and out about the best it can get and the place is quiet with many good facilities. The staff are exceptionally helpful, neat, and very polite. I would stay here again but 2 to 3 stars is a more honest ranking.

“We stayed here to get some sleep - it didn't happen.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

After camping and a long drive we decided to hotwire a hotel and get some sleep. This showed up as 90% recommended so we took it.

Upon check in, I gave my Priority Rewards number and was offered 2 snacks and a coupon for a free drink. That was a nice touch. We then said "we are not from this area. We are from the North, we do not have good Mexican or Tex-Mex anywhere. Where can we go for dinner to get the best Mex or Tex-Mex food around?" (The reason we chose El Paso as our stop for SLEEP). The front desk agent responded with "well, lots of people like to go to P.F. Chang's, it's close by." WTF?!?!?!?! We responded with "P.F. Chang's, the Chinese food chain? <<positive head nod>> We have those at home. We would really like authentic Mex or Tex-Mex." She then said "ok, we tell people to go to Leon's." Thanks.

We then went to our room, which smelled mildewy, so we turned on the AC and exhaust fan, and, sure enough, there was mold all over the bathroom ceiling. But, we were exhausted, so we decided to just go to dinner and let it try to air out. We found some places on our own to try out online. It failed, but, we heard the couple behind us talking about how awful Leon's was...

Anyway, back at the hotel, we settle in to go to sleep and the smoke detector starts chirping. We called the front desk and they send up maintenance. Since the smoke detector is literally on top of the bed, the maintenance guy can't get to it without crawling on our bed, so he just hands us a battery. Awesome. The should have just switched our room. Clearly the hotel was not crowded if we got it on hotwire.

We go to sleep and sleep soundly for about an hour or so until a bunch of people start running up and down the corridor either 1. banging on our door purposely or 2. their vibrations make our door bang. Then I fall back to sleep and am awoken by people screaming loudly at each other. Then I am awoken again, at 4am, by more chirping. Every 15 minutes. I get up and start getting ready for my day around 5:30am. That was not my plan. Sleep was my plan. At 6am I hear someone trying to use a key to get into our room, turning the handle, swiping the card, turning the handle, etc. over and over. I'm sure that wasn't housekeeping at 6am.

On top of no sleep, the mold also made me sick for the next 4 days.

“Friendly, it felt like old friends were greeting me.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I travelled with a friend to get out of town. The workout facilities are great. Enjoyed the fridge and microwave in my room. Jorge remembered my name when I returned to the bar the second night. I had about four off the wall requests for the front desk and Elizabeth was able to assist me with them all!
